In the last 15 years of playing MMOs, I wasn't hacked ONCE (started back then with Ultima Online and EverQuest 1, followed by countless others). It's your own fault is all I can think of. Best of luck getting them back though.

1) Did you went to those gil seller websites to check it out? No
2) Did you click on any links that send you to a SE website that reqires you to log in. No
3) When was the last time you remember changing your password? How strong is it? Got an email to change the password about a week into actual launch, changed it to something I've never used on anything else. It's over 10 characters long, uses upper and lower cases and numbers.
4) Do you have any anti virus installed? Are they up to date? Yep and Yep
5) Are you using those free VPN services? No
6) Did you log in your account elsewhere? Lan shop, someone else home, asked your guildmate to log in for you. No
7) Did you bring your PC / laptop for repairs? No
In the past 10 years I have NEVER been hacked before this. I also use the same login name and password for all the other MMOs I play/played (WoW, SWToR, Lord of the Rings, Neverwinter, Guild Wars 2, World of Tanks) yet none of them were hacked when my FF account was hacked, kinda strange don't you think?

In the last 30 years, I've never been hit by a car, so if you get hit by a car, it's your own fault.
