When can I start gathering?

Fayo: Walk from any city? Or any except Limsa Lominsa? I'm sure I've read of not being able to walk off there on these forums somewhere?

Koga_Edge: So you called a gathering skill a class? Does that mean I cannot do a fighting class and gather at the same time like in other mmo's? How often can I swap class once I'm level 10? (level 9 now in one city, level 7 in another, yep I need to choose).

The weapon in your main hand determines your class/job, once you unlock that class you are free to switch between them as you please, so long as you're not in combat, every class you gain access to unlock a gear set so you can easily and quickly shift between classes, sorta like in XIII, no fuss ^^
