Posted this in another thread just now too, but yeah healing in FATEs seems rather useless. Did Behemoth and got nothing for it, same with the other healer in the party, this while everyone else in the party got silver or higher.

I agree. The thanks and cheers I get for doing something I'm meant to do (but not expected to) far outweighs any medals or exp.I find myself doing the same now I'm working on my CNJ. The amount of tells I get thanking me for heals and raises is insane. Makes a nice change since I tanked my way to 50 and got little to no thanks at all, not that I mind since I know that I did a good job. After being left for dead on a number of FATEs and not being healed myself, now playing as a healer I like to help out when I can.
That is a nice thought, but some of us are doing FATEs to level. Sadly, the most important thing to me is getting experience, helping people comes second. I will throw out one or two heals if I see someone dying but that's about it. You will find me as a Conjurer, not a White Mage, dealing as much damage as I can in these things.
I agree with the people who think this is a completely broken system. I'm sorry. I really think that healers should get experience in these fusterclucks for healing. It shouldn't matter if you're in a group or not. Many times I am in a group and everyone else in it is ranged dps and they don't need healing for example. It's always someone outside the group it seem.
Don't heal people outside of your group. If solo only dps don't heal(unless it's you). Not a very friendly way to play, but you will do better in fates.
all se needs to do is switch fate rewarding from damage only to hate generation. thats it. then everyone wins from healing and rezing since they generate hate. really easy fix and not really that hard of a number to change since 1 hate = 1dmg(2 heals) or something like that.
