What do you think of the point allotment system?

Personally I am more for set stats every level up namely because this is what makes certain races better than others in different classes, or whatever they are called now, and gave incentive to be taru/galka/etc. Aside from that it's very difficult to actually see any resulting effect from stat increases and, for the most part, determine how much you need to make a difference. Quite obviously, a lot is already being worked on atm and this is one idea amongst the heap of many. So how do you think this point allotment system fairs? Thanks for your time

I dont mind it, though I wish a I got a lot more stats, when you have a DoW and a DoM at 50 (i dont but just example) switching between these totally opposite stats fully takes you about 37 hours. Which is stupid. Stop restricting my gameplay lol.

But then again imo stats barely work, so I dont care right now.

After the changes, i will rage!

It's good in concept, but horrible in execution and implementation. (Like much of the rest of the game)

A reason i dont quite liek the current point system is because its proberly the sole reason why the attribute point allocation values are so low and why they give such insignificant returns on your stats if they wanted to allow people to play multiple class's, obviously if someone only wanted to focus on one type of specific Dow class it would of given them a large advantage over people who tryed to be a jack of all trades, to the point where you can get by without putting almost any points at all into favourable attributes if you didnt want to seem gimpish on your favored class.
But since this wont be an issue in the future from the poll results i haz no beef anymore!

I like it since I have more control over what you class can do. This system wasn't really made for min/maxing with how ffxi was.

But gives players ability to create their own class. I so far been keeping my stuff balanced, and doing very well so far. Instead of putting points in on a per class basis. Put points in everything and even out you stats out.

Im doing that and doing pretty well so far. I haven't felt the need to reassign points and I tried a few classes out. Maybe stop trying to force the classes into stuff from ffxi or other mmos.

The only way this system is restrictive is your a min/maxer, since in away it goes against the way this class system was really made for. Which was class customization by swapping abilities.

I don't like it in its current form, feels too restrictive. I feel that it would be better on a per-class basis, or removed altogether.

I like it the way it is, however, I don't like that I'm limited to changing my points around only after what...is it 24 hours? an hour?

Basically it's fine, I like to have some vitality/dexterity when I play Conjurer. But I don't know, for instance, if I'll need to play con one night, or if I want to play pug in the afternoon. My stats are all geared towards Alchemy and Conjury.

One solution I thought to having was have 3 open sets for point allotment, that way the game isn't too OP, and those who wish to play a strong mage or melee class don't have to sacrifice for the other, or make another character. I know an issue with this is everyone just shoving all their points into one stat which isn't good.

So I do wish we could change them around more frequently. Maybe every half hour or something.
Also, the stats for elements should be separate from the stats for phys/mag. I hate redoing EVERYTHING. I can never completely remember where I put those points.

Edit: I don't think it should be removed from the game all together. For one if offers each class a choice. If you think this is restrictive, then to have a cookie cutter class is even more so. I think I understand what someone was saying though, to have it per class.
With locked in stats, you're looking forward to forcing armor/weapon choices on classes just like XI. Having them compensate for what they lack.

Another way you could do it would be to split the points up in a way that you create your own base stats (Minus a job) and have a smaller percentage go towards each class how you like it.

point alotment is a time-consuming piece of crap. The concept makes sense but the implementation makes me want to kill myself.
