If I'm in a FATE solo, I'll rarely heal anyone. The exception is if its a boss and there's a tank, then I'll make sure they don't die. But random dps running around? I will sometimes if I notice they're one hit away from death, but if I only heal I get tons of stuff hitting me and nobody tries to get them off me. Not only that, I'm lucky to get a bronze so I usually stick to dps on my WHM or switch to SMN if I'm trying to level up my SCH. I wish they'd do something about it so I can heal all the time.

I'm assuming you were in a party, so yea they really should have healed. Most of the time, when I'm in a party with other healers they never heal...or rez...ever. I'm pretty nice so I usually stay behind to rez dead people, of course when I die I have to return lol.

Yeah my criticism for the healers in the OP isn't that they wern't healing the random DPS. Managing threat/defences/survival in a FATE is very much the individuals responsibility, there's precious few FATEs where adds and aggro control arn't something that you can handle at a personal level. Rather the criticism that this was a single-boss FATE, where there is one hard hitting boss, and a single tank who ends up with his undivided attention and no attempt was made to support the tank(s) as all three healers decided this wasn't their responsibility (and even went so far as to defend that position after the raid wiped)

While the healing does irritate me as well (in that situation, throwing a heal out has never cost me gold), what gets my panties in a bunch is people not resurrecting you after the FATE, especially after asking politely. It's extremely off-putting to me. When you're going around doing multiple FATEs, you do have the time to throwout a raise and reach the other event in time to get gold. I play in the late hours, so there aren't so many people playing that the event is over in seconds. But for example, during Coeurlclaw King, there will be maybe two people who need a raise that ask politely multiple times while at least 30 people scamper off (and not immediately, mind you) without a word. It's just not friendly or social at all.

One of the most hilarious things with people not wanting to heal are courier/escort type FATEs. My first FATE in Gridania was one such, about level 20 I think. Almost the entire group of at least 10 were conjurers. The NPC died because nobody would heal it, and the FATE was failed.
