    Will this computer run FFXIV?

I apologize if this is in the wrong place.

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+E...specifications

Super simple short version: I want to buy a new desktop that'll play this game. To those of you who are tech savvy, looking at the specs, will it run the game?

I don't want it to run on insanely high settings. I just want to be able to play it.

I am not computer savvy enough to build my own computer, I KNOW that's the best route, but I don't know a thing about any of that.

I know it's only a tower, I've got my own monitor and everything else that works just fine. If it works, I want to purchase it immediately because it's currently on sale, so as many responses as quick as possible would be great. Thank you very much everyone!

    You'll be fine :-)

My current comp is AMD Phenom II 2.90 Ghz processor 6GB memory, AMD Radeon 6850 graphics card ran Version 1 which was more graphically demanding and runs ARR beautifully with no problem. As you can tell by the processor speed my comp is dated, I updated the graphics card a few years ago, still runs everything I play just fine.
Mostly graphics card, processor speed & memory are the 3 main things to focus on for gaming.

    FXIV: ARR Minimum System Requirements

    Operating System: Windows® Vista 32/64bit, Windows® 7 32/64 bit
    Processor: Intel® Core™2 Duo
    Graphics: NVIDIA® Geforce® 8800 Series, ATI Radeon™ HD 4770
    Memory: 2GB (4GB recommended for 64bit OS)
    Disk Space: 20GB.

You may notice that these are lower than the minimum system requirements for v1.0. This is because Square Enix wants the game to be more accessible and run on a wider range of PCs.

    FXIV: ARR Recommended System Requirements

For the best performance you should aim to run the game on a system with at least these specifications.
    Operating System: Windows® 7 64 bit
    Processor: Intel® Core™ i5
Graphics: NVIDIA® Geforce® GTX 660 or higher, AMD Radeon™ HD 7950 or higher
    Memory: 4GB of RAM.
    Disk Space: 20GB.

Mujen and Ljonesj -- Thank you very much! I'll be going to the store later today once they're open. I'll keep checking the thread on and off until that point in case someone jumps in saying, "NOOO THE COMPUTER WILL EXPLODE!" But I'm sure everything will be fine. Thank you so much.

wouldnt hurt to save up and see if you can get a used GTX 560 or GTX 460 or a GtX 280 from someone. a used GTX 460 will go for quite cheap now with the 700 series being out and is a very capable GPU for games like this and other MMo's and doesnt require a small power plant to run.

CrazyCanukk -- I've been thinking about saving up, but my situation is a little crazy. I'm going to be moving in 2 weeks, and my current tower is almost 4 years old, falling apart, and keeps making grinding noises when it starts up. Also it BSODs on me every other day. I think that's due to overheating more than anything, but either way: I don't believe it will survive the ship from Florida to Seattle. I really wanted to push to wait until Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals, but I'll most likely need my computer ASAP when I get there. Either way, thank you for the suggestion regardless.

back your stuff up fast on a USB stick or USB drive , dvds...beg borrow or steal but get it done before you regret it. That system sounds like it could poop the bed any day and take your critical photos and stuff with it. I lost 3 years of pictures and other stuff because i was an idiot and didnt back up.

Yeah, I've been backing everything up since I woke up this morning, even before I found the computer mentioned above.
