Stone Vigil currently impossible to do.

So I'm a tank PLD lvl 42 currently.

I tried to do Stone Vigil, it's a huge pain (prepare).
I tried my best taking on mobs but didn't work. at all. I got too much aggro so got instantly killed, the healer is lazy apparently and just complains about me dying while (aren't you supposed to heal?).
There's always a lack in contact in dungeon, which is strange because "mmo".
Trying to come up with a strategy is pointless because some have this "common guys, hurry up" attitude even though I mentioned the "I'm new so bear with me".

I tried spamming Flash as much as possible but mobs apparently have the ability to ignore that, which causes the team to be frustrated with me (not really sure if they even noticed it's not working or just like to complain INSTEAD of help).

Dps did not wait for u to generate enough hate and healer spam healing and regen. If you did everything right then those ppl are at fault

I died 3 times just walking in a corner.
I said "maybe team mashup is wrong" Because there were 2 Bards 1 healer and me as a tank.
Bards didn't do shit except complain. Theres nothing that can frustrate me more is people complaining instead of helping especially when they're able to help and not decide to

So I asked in the beginning if anyone had done it before, and everyone said "no" except for the 2 silent Bards who are apparently super shy in MMO except when it comes to complaining.
BUT when we crossed those "patrols" which I didnt know were there, a team mate responded with. that we need to be careful with the patrols.
So did he/she merely ignored me at the beginning asking for help on this dungeon or didn't felt like cooperating at all.

- Kill the dragon aevis first. Pull them away from other groups
- Watch for the corridors where the ice sprites pop. Take them out before aevis.
- Aevis can't be slept so get the sprites slept if there are links.
- Mark your targets and if the DPS attack a different target tell them to attack your target and if they do it again let them tank it. It'll get your point across that they need to attack the same target.
- Don't fight in the corridors where there is dragons breathing fire. Unnecessary damage on the group.
- Get Stoneskin applied before every fight and make sure that the healer knows they can use Cure II.
- Tab Target. Fast Blade one target, Savage Blade the 2nd, Rage of Halone the 3rd. All three on first target. Rinse and repeat.
- Flash twice at the start. Then use flash every now and again.
- SHIELD BASH IS YOUR FRIEND. Or just avoid the big red circles.

Bosses are fairly straight forward. Keep hate. Avoid AOE.

P.s. the level cap is 43. Join a fate party to get levelled up and it'll be easier. 1 level makes a surprising difference.

Thanks man, I'll try doing that, but, it's a lot more difficult to target on PS3 and swap between them.

Patrols are the leading cause of wipes in Stone Vigil. The others being packs of mobs not being CC'd & the healer not paying attention. If you have a WHM or BLM, they need to be responsible for sleeping adds and you are responsible for pulling the mobs you're currently fighting away from the pack (especially since some arcanists and summoners are stupid and either spam their AoEs or decide to ignore CC'd mobs). Always prioritize the drakes and pelicans in groups. The Puks (the little dragons) can be CC'd.

The Aevis should be handled separately since most of them are patrols with the exception to the pull before the last boss, which has 3 of them. As much as some hate it, use provoke to pull those mobs if you need the range advantage and don't want to face pull other mobs trying to inch in close. You're at a part of the game where tank damage has notably gone up and you and your healers have to play differently. Healers have to focus on healing you and not on spamming stone and aero.

Remember the golden rule of tanking: Pull mobs out of the room they're in, and into the room you've cleared. Some people will disagree with this completely, but, I use Provoke to pull patrols from packed rooms (it's instant, long range and does the job). It means you don't need to get close to other stuff, you can pull safely.

Deal with the patrols first.

Spam Flash; with two Bards you should never oom. Mark a priority. Have the healer close to you, ask him/her to move out of mob LoS to your side, but to stay close (most healers have this stupid tendency to stand at max range, which is pointless); any mobs that run to the healer have to run past you and your flash in order to get to them. If they get threat as them to come to you. Be ready to Cover the healer (write a macro that can cast Cover on a mouse over target to make it easier).

Most importantly start the fight with CDs up. Bloodbath will help. As will Rampart. Ask the healer not to HoT. A little CC goes a long way too, if you can get some (a White mage can sleep; mark one out for the healer to CC).

Finally, don't give up. It's an easy enough dungeon with smart players - so get back in there, you'll do it fine.
