I havent done AV in a long time, but I was under the impression they changed that boss quite some time ago because it was so difficult for SCHs, I thought they made it so the fairy wasnt affected by the stacks or something. When did you last do it?I'm here to say thanks too. I leveled the trinity, first DRG, then PLD and now reached 50 on Scholar. Out of the 3, SCH is by far my favorite class. I love the multi tasking that goes into it, and getting commendations means I'm at least doing something right, lol. One dungeon I find incredibly difficult is Arum Vale, the one with the Malboro and fruits. I ALWAYS lose my faerie and a teammate or 2 (thankful for sure cast). Just wondering if some content is geared more toward WHM than others? I have no interest going past 35 in it. Tips?

Last night. And I received my first vote kick. The part was having a hard time eating the fruits, and Standing in the yellow, but it just seemed succor and wd weren't helping, while focusing on the Tank (War), not sure he was using stacks or not. No one even said anything to me, was just dismissed.

And my fairy was TOTALLY taking damage, had to recall her twice.

May I ask, was it the first boss? Locksmith? And were you standing near it? I did Aurum Vale last night and noticed that my fairy kept getting smacked with his tentacles (ew) - took 80% of her HP or killed her instantly. I had a wtf moment when she died and realised that when I was standing in the middle, really close to the boss trying to add Succor and buffs, myself and Eos kept getting smacked :/ coupled with the yellow goo, she died once and I had to recall her.
The final boss you'd think would be the hardest but ended up being really really easy. So I'm assuming that the aoe stacks don't affect her anymore.

The AoE stacks don't affect the pets anymore. AV was hell for SCH and SMN alike when it did.May I ask, was it the first boss? Locksmith? And were you standing near it? The easiest thing to do when facing the locksmith is placing your fairy somewhere fairly safe. That way she can't follow you around and get hit/end up in the yellow goo. Her range is huge, so she will likely be able to reach at least 3/4th if not all of your party.
I find the easiest place to stand near the fruit left of the entrance. That way you will have one dps to your left, one to your right, and the tank somewhere in the middle.

Well like I said I havent done it in a very long time, I can't remember how difficult it was even after the change. I imagine the usual tricks would help- keep stoneskin on all your dps for when aoe hits, positioning the fairy somewhere she can reach everyone for embrace and using your mitigation abilities on the tank. Although it is possible they weren't using fruits. There's plenty of fights where people just charge through and ignore mechanics because 'lol healer just keep us alive'

That may be the case, tank kept repeating "eat the fruit after 2 stacks", but my fairy was set on heel/obey, so when I succored and wd, I ran to the center of the group (I know, should have placed EoS, but she was taking so much damage as it was.) will placing my pet next to tank really help?Well like I said I havent done it in a very long time, I can't remember how difficult it was even after the change. I remember placing the fairy during the fruit fights to save myself worrying about her pruning up in goldbile bubble baths. She's pretty hard to kill except by special mechanics (e.g. goldbile pools) and single target attacks. In most situations where she takes damage, I end up using Sustain not so much because I think she'll die but to stop her from Embracing herself while idle instead of prioritizing players ("Bye Felicia Stance: Activated!).

For the food/buffs stuff. Food and stat potions are not applied to pets when summoned, only your base stats and stats from gear are applied.
Rouse does not recalculate egi/fairy stats, Spur does but spur is smn exclusive. So if you wanted you could swap from crit to det gear or something when summoning Eos/Selene to have her focus on another stat if you wanted for whatever reason.
Was this changed at some point, because I can confirm that the last time I checked (admittedly much more than one major patch ago), food and potions most certainly did effect fairy stats. Ah well, either way I have a stash of Mega-pots, I'll test this out when I get home if I remember to.For the food/buffs stuff.
