Something in the Soup instance preventing completion of Guild Tasks

I am currently working on the Rank 36 Cooking Quest "Something in the Soup" and as I went to turn in the Guild Task item of the day, I entered the instance at the guild for the related quest which did not have the normal NPC with a ! above it for the daily task. Until I am able to purchase or farm a button mushroom to complete the storyline quest, I will continually end up in the instance whenever approaching the guild. Eventually I decided to abandon the quest to complete the guild task which now makes me replay through the whole quest which is a bit inconvenient.

Area: Cooking Guild

Steps:
1 Have "Something in the Soup" active in your journal.
2 Approach the Cooking Guild
3 Enter related instance causing you no longer able to complete the guild task.

What I was hoping for was maybe to have a pop up menu for entering the instance for the quest as I approach the guild instead of being automatically forced into it every time without warning even. That way I can still do things in the guild without any interference to related quests I may have active.
