AF+1 Costs WAY Too Much

Personally, I don't think that the crime is the time it takes to farm. Nobody NEEDS that gear. DL is more than capable for most of the content.

My real beef is this: AK is the only way to farm myth tokens.

The farmable endgame content in ARR is basically one single 4-man dungeon that drops gear that is completely inferior to all token gear. That's just bad planning and bad game design.

If we had more than AK to keep us occupied, and if level 50 content offered at least some RNG chance to get competent filler gear on par with the token gear (even DL, let alone AF2) then the AF2 grind wouldn't look nearly as bad as it does right now. Problem is all this game is offering at the moment is that AF2 grind. I sincerely hope Yoshida doesn't expect people to sub just to run AK 8 times a week. I know I won't be.

The next content isn't due before november, so obviously SE made it a grind for those of you that rushes to endgame for the gear. Most people are still enjoying leveling the many classes and jobs, you are in the few.

The funny thing is, even if you were fully geared you would be complaining about being bored, there's no way to make players like you happy.

Well in 2 months new content (raid is introduced). Since FFXIV is following the typical generic endgame gear MMO grind expect current gear requirements to get nerfed and they introduce new tomestones gear sets to farm for in preparation for crystal tower. Get rdy for the QQ's then.

It is quite a commitment and I have resigned to the fact that I won't be able to keep up with the people who play all day everyday. But at the same time, you are assuming SE won't add any content in the future that will award more stones. They could add more dungeons in patches, or even the dailies that they are going to add soon could help alleviate the cost, which would render your math inaccurate. Sidenote if I can just get 2-3 pieces of af+1 I'd be happy.

On the subject of only AK to keep us occupied at 50...yeah, it was pretty foolish to have sooooo many leveling dungeons that people run like once and then forget about, with only AK that anyone wants to run at 50. I wouldn't mind heroic modes and maybe a daily heroic quest to get extra stones.

I like the cost of AF2, it makes me have something to look forward to, gives me a reason to log on, and ensures I don't beat the game in a weekend/month. MMO's need ways to keep players playing(especially monthly sub MMO's), the content is fun even for the 500th time for me so I don't mind at all.

Are you joking? Getting AF+1/Relic+1s is a joke. You shouldn't even be worried about your AF+1 unless you're incredibly casual and have no desire to enter Binding Coil/future content in general.

I'm actually pretty disappointed that SE decided to hand out AF+1 and Relics by doing something so simple, rather than having challenging quests that fit the upgrade of each.

Considering AF+1 is comparable to ALLAG GEAR. It's pretty much being handed to you. Stop crying.

Look AF+1 is basically free raid-level gear. It has to take a long time, otherwise there is *no* point in doing raids. Its there for ppl who really don't want to run coil of bahamut a billion times for lucky drops. If you don't want to spend 5 months on AF+1 you dont have to; just go to coil of bahamut and get your raid set that way. The two sets are equal in terms of item level.

SE *wants* ppl to run the raids. But there are inevitably ppl who do not have the time/desire to raid and compete for drops. In that case, you have the option of doing dungeons and getting a guaranteed raid level set just by playing the dungeons you *do* want to do.

Powergamers should be going for Allagan. If you're powergaming and trying to go for AF+1 you are doing it way way way wrong. AF+1 is so casual gamers can get geared too. The fastest way to raid gear is to spam raids for drops, not spam dungeons for AF+1.

There's nothing casual about this requirement. Five months isn't a grind, it's a sentence. I like the AF sets because I want to look like a White Mage. God help me if I decide to play Scholar too!

If I do something full time for five months I'd better either be getting paid, or having fun. This is neither.
