    2.2 WHM Gear

Seems to me the best choice for gearing a white mage is High Allagan gear and Daystar accessories, with the exception of legs where there doesn't seem to be a good choice. I guess I might go with Daystar legs as I need piety, but I tend to favor spell speed as my preferred secondary stat. I avoid crit completely and find it frustrating that whm and sch share soldiery tome gear.

    Any thoughts?

No thoughts, other than I'm the same and also haven't found anything better as far as pants go.

I don't mind having crit but I try to avoid SS.

At the end of the day the secondaries don't matter much compared to the mind increases. Except, for WHM, you need to make sure you have enough Pie to get through the battle too.
With a mix that's mostly trying for det and pie I ended up with a good bit of crit while having a little less det and more pie than before with the Yagrush (I find it beneficial to plan with that given the Allagan weap is pretty far of in most cases)...With High Allagan Crook you get moderate levels of SS

Daystar Hat, Legs, Necklace, Armilae and ring.
High Allagan Body, hands, belt, feet and second ring.

I wonder if there'll be a bunch of new accs at some point, like there were with the Ex primals, for better customization.

I think for Crit haters, High Allagan and Daystar accessories are prob the best bet. Daystar legs both for Piety (which is more useful than Spell Speed generally) and accessibility, since they're purchasable. Unfortunately, since the Leviathan Weapon has Crit, weapon options are all pretty damn tedious to obtain.

For all the whms that can't do coil they are gonna have to make some interesting choices gearing up. Full weathered daystar makes the average whm lose around 50 piety so they might be forced to not upgrade pieces if they can't make the cut for 2nd coil. Upgrading daystar legs just isn't something I can get excited about it feels like picking the lesser of 2 evils since our leg options blow. Given the massive loss of det and only ok pie on them i'm considering overmelding cashmere legs instead. Cashmere legs hq have 24 det 24 SS and can probably meld more pie on them then daystar has. Idk of that's the best route but something to think about.

Whms will need to be rich in order to survive coil? Pfft
And will the rng give us what we need in order to gear up? Probably not for the unlucky population of raiders.
Daystar is probably the way to go
As waiting on coil loot to drop is painful.
These loss of stats ( compared to other classes) will force whms to play better/ play their classes 110% as there will be nothing much we can do about it unless we r a gil fountain gearing in all the cashmere. "Cash"mere..... Get it? Lol

Why would we all choose cashmere gear? We're talking a difference of 10 Mind (likely - not sure how much HQ has) on the body piece. I'd personally rather go full Daystar at ilvl 110 than spend an obscene amount of gil on ilvl 90.

Also, why would we go full Daystar and play "110%" when Daystar hampers our play by making heals more swingy and increasing aggro problems? You're telling people to play better by making suboptimal choices and getting over it.

This doesn't even make sense. The Cashmere/saurian set has a bunch of crit pieces.
So really what you're doing is losing a ton of mind and vit to meld pie on a bunch of stuff.
