Let's face it. No one is a snowflake. No one is unique, and chances are if you try to be as unique as possible with skill selections, stats and gear, you are going to be a seriously gimped player. There is no perfecting some unique job that will separate you from the rest, the biggest difference in players will always be skill.

Actually characters are 'snowflakes.' And people can make some unique combinations of skills/abilities/spells and be effective. But people aren't trying to be unique just for uniqueness' sake. We want to be effective too. Part of the 'skill' aspect of this game is knowing what is best for your character in your situation abilitiy/skills/spells -wise. Not everyone will always use the same tactics or abilities, but as long as they are observant, active, and using proper abilities for their situation, how can that be bad? Darkstar has done what I have too, fighting the same mob. I will put concussive blow II on my thm while fighting them to try to help break horns too. That doesn't mean I'm not taking up my role as a mage at the same time, but it is certainly helping my party with their goal.

You are probably not the first and only THM to put concussive blow on your bar and use it to break horns, and I do acknowledge that there are variations on the same job according to playstyle, but at the core, in my opinion, everything is pretty much the same. I agree many abilities are useful despite the job they are used on, but i dont think the distinction between jobs is enough, and the lack of roles kinda adds to the lack of difficulty in the game.
