We encountered this quite badly today so thought I would report it here:
My wife and I play literally side-by-side with my wife playing on PS3 and myself using a high-end gaming PC (spec isn't important - not here to fish for approval).
Whilst undertaking the Titan fight at level 34 during the story missions, we noticed a massive difference in the game which was both infuriating and confusing -
Basically, the Ps3 was not registering the correct location of the linear AOE (the 'push' attack).
On the PC, the aoe marker (floor cracks etc) appeared without issue approximately 2 seconds before the attack hits, allowing ample time to avoid - these either did not display correctly on the PS3, or appeared significantly out of sync with one occasion resulting in my wife being pushed to her demise despite appearing, on the PS3, to be at an almost 90 degree angle to the direction of the boss' attack, well clear of the marker.
Now I know that there may be trolls who shout 'lag' etc, but none of these issues affected the PC version and I have network Qos set on the router to prevent preferential handling of packets etc from different sources (i'm a network engineer by trade so considered all of the possibilities from that side).
We have also encountered horrific issues with our characters being so far out of sync between clients that it actually transposed what side of her I was actually standing at times. This is not isolated to myself - several of my linkshell have confirmed they have also encountered such issues.
I know the PS3 is running on a far lower spec, but regardless this needs addressing if we are all to play together on even footing - If this is widespread, poor old PS3 gamers are at a MASSIVE disadvantage when playing...
We are based in the UK. ISP: Talktalk. D/L: 6mb, U/L; 1.5mb (good upload for a non-fibre UK ISP). Both devices wired to the router with a rock solid 100mb connection.
