I remember seeing / hearing that you had an exp boost per level 50 you had.
how does it work? Is it, each 50, adds X% exp?
Does it apply to all jobs? i.e.
Having 5, combat 50's, would still add Y% x 5 to crafting / gathering classes?

I think the way it works is that you gain a 50% exp boost for killing mobs as long as the class/job you are leveling is not your highest level class/job.
I don't believe there's anything about extra level 50 classes/jobs increasing it. Also I think that it does not affect DoH/DoL, because I believe the bonus is only applied to killing.
You don't have to have a lv 50, actually. You just have to have your combat class above your other class. It's a 50% increase in exp. It only applies to combat classes. It does NOT apply to gathering/crafting classes.
And I'm positive it works below lv 50 as I DON'T have a lv 50 and it's been working fine. AFAIK there is NO benefit to having a lv 50 as far as exp goes.
As I said the exp gain does NOT apply to gathering/crafting classes.

The way it works is that it gives you a bonus EXP (for DoW/M killing & FATEs) depending on the gap between your current Class(DoW/M) and your highest.
Check out the 'Active Help window > Battle > Armoury Bonus', It's all there
It's not mentioned anywhere how much EXP It boosts you, and it's probably invisible.
the 50% EXP boost you're referring to is most likely either 'Chain EXP Bonus' or 'Rested EXP Bonus'
Actually it mentions in your log that you gain a 50% increase in exp every time you kill something on your lower level classes-IE when you gain your exp it will say 100 xp gained (+50% exp) or something to that effect. The way it works is that it gives you a bonus EXP (for DoW/M killing & FATEs) depending on the gap between your current Class(DoW/M) and your highest.

EDIT:
And Anima, I can't post anymore so I'll respond to you. You are talking about RESTED bonus now. The TC is not. RESTED bonus applies to all of your classes. The other bonus DOES NOT.

Well ... 'Chain EXP Bonus' and 'Rested EXP Bonus' are shown in the logs ... and in the 'Active Help' section in-game, it clearly says that it depends on the 'discrepancy' between your current level and the level of your highest class. Check it out lol
EDIT:
Also check out the 'Active Help window > Adventuring Basics > Sanctuaries', It says 'All experience earned through battle, crafting and gathering while under the benefit of the rested bonus will be increased by 50%' with a picture 0.0

It is misleading information in the help menu. My arcanist is 34, and my conjurer is 32. Conjurer gets 50% exp boost at all times with no rested exp. Leveled my pugilist last night from level 8. Got 50% exp boost at all times. The level difference between classes is irrelevant. So long as you are leveling a class that is lower leveled than your highest level class, you will receive a 50% exp bonus. Rested, chain, food, and any other +exp will be added on top of that.
FATE exp is also boosted by 50% for any class under your highest level class.
If you have a 50 other DoW classes will gain a 50% experience bonus till they hit level 50.
Bonus does not apply to quests but does apply to killing things (both inside dungeons and in the world) and doing fates.
Even if you have more than 1 higher level class it'll still be 50%.
