YOU NEED LVL 50 ALC TO MELD THIS MATERIA

wtf is this the quest tells you any lvl 19 hand of disciple and then when you do the quest and try and meld I get this BS so now I have spent all that time lvling a skill for no reason and now I have to lvl ALC who's stupid idea was this to assign a craft to a specific class and plus its lvl 50 in the skill, I'm starting to think this game is just a big steaming pile O well atleast they made money back from making this game so Good job

Huh?

The level to meld materia depends on the level of the item you want to meld it to. If you have a level 20 armor piece, you only need level 20 to meld.

If you want to upgrade end-game gear, then yes, you'll need a maxed discipline.

You can always have someone else meld for you, as well.

Finally, I don't see why having each item meld only from a specific class surprises you at all - it's the same as repairs.

yeah cause the quest clearly states "if your a WHM you should lvl ALC because you cant meld without that class" melding should go with the armor type of your class not some stupid BS ALC..ALC should be a optional class if you want it not something you have to have.
Oh I hate crafting in any game its just pointless grinding it should never be tied to endgame in any fashion and this crafting is so stupid quick syn 99 cotton go watch t.v. for 30 mins come back do it again YAWN pointless grinding.

ANY level 50 alchemist can perform a meld for you.

ANY.


Also, quick synth is LITERALLY the worst way to level crafting.

Someone obviously needed some attention. You don't have to level alchemy to 50, someone else can do it for you. But then again, who would help such an ignorant whining person like you
