    [Dev] Remove pointless height limit for camera when locked on target

    We can now zoom in and out the camera when locked on target, but we can't raise it over a certain ridiculously low limit. For some fights like Great Buffalo you can't even see the name and battle regimen marker.

    This is even worse for galkas as a locked camera insists on being behind us and we can't even see normal enemies.

    Please unlock the target locked camera's height so we can get an overhead view of the battle, and make it so zooming out the camera doesn't also lower its position.

    Just unlock the target by pressing 'C' or from the configuration menu.

    Locking onto targets was only useful in Beta when characters needed to have a line-of-sight for attacks to hit. Now that players automatically face the target when attacking, there's no point locking on anyway. So just disable it.

    I'm not defending SE's choice for making the lock-on a default, I was just suggesting a solution.

    And anyway, by definition, the locked-on camera should stay in one position, so you can't really fault the system for existing the way it does.

    Fortunately for you, you can just press 'C' to disable the locked on camera.

    What can us controller users do then? This is really annoying as I'm trying to make the camera face something interesting while in battle to make beating a marmot seem at least visually more interesting. It would also be handy to see where the WHM's are when they're casting buffs. (I'm so tired of using this game's superfluous name changes)

    go under configuration turn the auto lock off like everyone else even if you have a freakin gamepad...wow slow people...

    I don't have much problem with there being a locked camera, as it can be unlocked at leisure. The thing that bothers me with it is that when the enemy model lunges forward to attack you, and the model jumps straight through your character (which it does in most cases on my pug) the camera spins around like a roller coaster. Every time.

    I would love it if they fixed the camera where the enemy model is based, it doesn't have to jump around with the battle animations.

    I use controller and turn lock-on off, I only lockon when im on DoW because im up in its face haha, but most times its off, I dont see point in it.

    Yeah this annoys me to. Why do the mobs feel the need to stand right on top of you. I keep moving out the way but they just jump on you again. It just makes everything looking messy especially in a party.

    I think most of us are well aware that you can unlock, and disable autolock. Still there are many situations where fighting unlocked is a disadvantage, like when fighting around a lot of monsters, when fighting monsters that move around.

    It's just that the locked-on camera seems constrained to low height for the same reason it used to be zoom locked: none.
