It is a very bad idea to pick up a Final Fantasy game without the plans or desires to become invested in the storyline and lore.Don't worry Eric, people try to justify PVE against PVP but in reality a really successful game will cater to both crowds, and if they don't they're losing out on a huge source of income.
The PVE is pretty linear in this game in my opinion, people do it for the lore. Players like us don't care about a lore and only want a challenge and I agree fully, scripted fights are boring and facing a player that can surprise you is a lot more fun and is more engaging in every aspect.
I'm done with this game aswell until I see a glimpse of PVP. It's getting kind of boring and I'm with you on that.
For a gamer like you? Probably, seeing as how you shot down OP's opinions like nothing and to play a game like YOU play it.
If I am paying for this game I don't think you could tell anyone what to do. They do what they enjoy and that's that. For you to shoot down that he likes final fantasy PVP or have the potential of liking it is beyond me. Yoshida is a huge PVP player, mind you. So we'll see what he does with it.
Games with only PVE tend to die.
I'm afraid to argue with that Vinta guy. He has glasses and a smart-person hat ; ;
