Maybe a solution for our Market Board issue (stacks vs single item)

Don't know if this has been suggested yet, so I'll post it here.

Honestly what they should do is allow people to sell as a stack as a choice. If you have less than 99 of an item, then buyers should be able to buy single from that number. So basically stacks would be in its own category, much like HQ's can be sorted and searched for separately. If I'm not mistaken, 1.0 was like this somewhat. Simply just add the option of stacks as an advanced search term, or (for items that apply) give an option when you click on it, for stacks and single items.

Essentially this will create four different markets for competitive pricing, the stack price and the single item price and the two HQ versions....so HQ stack and HQ Single.

I think this will improve the economy so that pricing might be a bit more fair and people can actually make some decent Gil.

If people simply pay attention to what they are pricing their stuff for and how big their stacks are, then the market works fine.

That would be awesome.....if everybody did that. Sometimes you have to play to the lowest common denominator. If the system is designed correctly, then you don't have threads like these popping up everywhere.

Honestly, I don't want to turn this game into "easy" mode.

I made 220,000 yesterday simply because people don't think when it comes to the market.

I didn't work any harder than them, just smarter.

    Sadly people don't though.

I made 200 odd thousand yesterday also, I'd still want better selling *and more important better buying* functionality though.

Don't sell in stacks of 99. Break it into smaller stacks. It sells much quicker.

There is one problem. Being able to buy partial stacks, would, allow people who have steady influx of items to control the market since they could just set a few stacks of something for a price, buy everything significantly cheaper than that price, and just keep refilling those stacks as the partial sales go through.

Instead I'd like to see people being able to list a whole stack of items at a total price instead of a unit price (so you could list 99 of an item for 106 gil, instead of either having to sell the whole stack at 1 gil each (at a 5% loss compared to selling it to NPC) or 2 gil each (being the same price as the NPC)) with having the unit price reflecting this (eg 1.07 gil per item). The total cost would still have to be a whole gil. In this way, it would give more pricing freedom for larger stacks of items (essentially allowing them to set a lower per unit price) without penalizing people who might only want to sell a few items at a time.

No what the AH needs is a sorting option. So you can sort by single price, total price, stacks or HQ. There is no sort option so it just becomes a mess

Being able to sell singles at a higher price is an opportunity for higher profit for those willing to do it. Your idea has been brought up in the giant thread on this same topic, and the same opposition/support still stands for it.

It's already sorted by per-item price, I don't think it's a mess. However a sort option would be a nice touch.
