Surround Sound Issue

For some reason the game is not outputting a Left Surround channel for me. I'm using an ASUS Xonar DSX sound card. The right surround speaker is clearly output footsteps and music when appropriate. The left surround speaker is just silent all the live long day. I checked my speaker setup in the driver, ran a test cycle, and all 4 speakers output sound during the test.

I can only assume it's a problem with the game. I'll try to test some other games as well.

I had weirdness with my Xonar D/X on my XP box as well. Voice-overs would only play in my rear left speaker. Was weird. I had to "trick" windows to get it to put it back to all four speakers again. I forget the order I did it in, but I think it was Asus config first, and then Windows Sound\Speaker Config options. Basically I left the Asus in 4CH mode (my sub is in a 2.1 analog rig, and I have 2 powered satellites, so it's really 4CH and not true 5.1), but told Windows I was running 2CH. Not sure just how it made it work right, but apparently the GX extensions are a lot smarter than we ever gave them credit for--it actually is doing positional audio still, even though Windows thinks it's running 2CH.

Well I tried StarCraft 2 and Guild Wars 2, and I am not experiencing this problem with either one of those. Now that I noticed this issue, it's driving me crazy.
