New job system, new weapons ?

My bad if this topic was already available! If the new job is coming out, does that mean there will be new weapons (seriously need a big ass great sword)? And if so will there be a new way of changing jobs or do you think they will just stick to what the format is now ?

I think they will stick to the current class change system, mainly because in ffxi because jobs can use multipe weapon types it has unballenced jobs like recently ppl want wars because they have most abt nm procs whuch has made other jobs almust redundant

I would really want a job that uses a gunblade; maybe like a tank job where he has a gunblade and shield, but can switch to ranged mode and use the gunblade as a gun. Or maybe it's an up close and personal DD job, but some of his TP moves make him jump back and shoot from range really quickly. It would be really cool.

I just want that Gunblade and elemental cannon that guy has ^^

Existing classes already have more than 1 weapon type so they could easily give us more weapons than classes. That being said most vastly different weapons will be their own class.

Conjurer = 1-handed wand, 2-handed cane
Thaum = 1-handed scepter, 2-handed staff
Gladiator = Swords, Daggers (similar function but decidedly a different type of weapon)

Speculation:

Musketeer = 1-handed Pistol, 2-handed Rifle (you can see both of these in the shop in Limsa)

Edit: Also I believe they said somewhere that they won't be changing the existing class system but they would be adding onto it for the traditional FF names.

Hmm this could be awesome, I would love to see great swords soon.
