What you're experiencing right now is pretty much the reason you see token systems at the end game in damn near every MMO now-a-days.
everytime i run a dungeon 50% of the loot is for DoM and 50% is DoW.... which for me is unlucky... also keep in mond how many classes are in DoM compared to DoW... that's probably why you feel the unbalance.... just keep in mind that tanks and and dps (lancers and pugilist) are very different even though they are DoW.

Meh Yoshi P. is just a sadist and decided to change the numbers for the commercial release bwahahaha. Yeah but no I know. I'm getting a kick out of people harping about using anecdotes as "evidence" when they present their OWN anecdotes are "counter-evidence"; it just amuses me to no end. XD
I was crafting one time and got my HQ% up to 98%, but I still made a NQ item.
I remember farming mining nodes with my success rate at 95%. With four chances per node, I was regularly coming up with two strikes producing nothing at all - literally a 50% failure rate instead of 5%.
I just suck it up though as bad luck. RNG gods don't favor me, ESPECIALLY in dungeon drops!




You know what I want from Brayflox? Battlemage gear. I've seen it drop so many times today, yet no matter how high I roll (lowest being 4 and highest being 51. Average being 10-20), the other Mage always gets it. Fifteen or so runs today and I still have nothing (I'm using my level 50 SCH instead of my level 35 BLM, as I'm hoping that as a healer, I'll find myself as the only Mage in the party... which has so far always been when no DoM gear has dropped).
At least I know I'm a pretty darn good Healer. Yay optimism?

I see this a lot in games that use RNG for loot distribution.
The problem here is not the system but people's understanding of statistics, and how probability isn't a certainty but rather an estimate, influenced by numerous variables (controlled or otherwise).
In a nutshell; the theory of the relative frequency of a probability (%) suggests that the probability (%) of a given event occurring (i.e. your loot dropping) is 'more likely' to occur the more often that event is attempted.
In Laymens terms; it's random. The more you try the 'more likely' you are to see the event occur but there is by no means a guarantee. As some have pointed out this is why token systems have become the choice of more and more MMO's these days. It's guaranteed i.e. 100% likely you will get your loot.
And really there is nothing SE can do about it.
