    First of all, people need to stop saying NIN tanks became popular in FFXI because of instant death attacks. That's ridiculous. Paladin could tank pretty much everything in the game. NIN became popular because a skilled and geared NIN could add more damage to the fold while simultaneously mitigating enough damage that the healing requirement became much lighter, which generally meant you could go even heavier on damage. The way hate mechanics worked in that game, NIN was like a train picking up steam the more attacks they absorbed with utsusemi without getting hit.

    So much bad information in this forum. But I shouldn't be surprised.

    Two players with equal gear won't automatically do the same damage. Yes, it's somewhat-to-largely about skill, especially if you're at all undergeared. If DPS rotations didn't require any kind of skill, nobody would have any difficulty with Turn 4 of Coil.

    I don't think the issue is really on the developers' side, really. Almost every game in existence these days, MMO to FPS to RTS to RPG... they're all just very easy. The gaming community has come to expect games to be easily beatable, and to have things given to them on a silver platter. If they introduced content that was actually hard, can you imagine how much crying there would be on the forums? SE is a company, and they're out to make money. If they piss off their entire playerbase, that threatens their wallet. So you won't see any truly hard content in this day and age, as sad as it is. If you go play some really old NES games or something along those lines, you die a lot, don't you? Nowadays, I can play through entire games without losing or dying even once. People need to play games for fun again, not just to beat it.

    Though you could blame the developers for ever placating the little whiny kids. :/

    are you one of those people who misconstrues everything someone says, and makes radical assumptions absed on nothing?

    I have no problem passing titan's heart. I did not make this thread because I can't beat titan or because of boo hoo Q Q. This is a discussion/conversation thread.

    Literally: Removing the burn phase would not increase the completion rate. It is not that hard to get past the burn phase. If you think the burn phase is the hardest part of titan, well, you've never gotten past it.

    Two players with equal gear won't automatically do the same damage.
    No crap, sherlock. That's not what this thread is about though.

    They haven't even had a fight where 2 tanks have to provoke off each other for certain reasons......... or instant death . Actually that would make titan more interesting, and would give meaning to the duty finder forcing 2 tanks on you.

    yeah other than random adds....and that are easy tankable with 1 ....or burned down by dps

    The biggest drawback to running content mechanics around I-Win attacks from Boss mobs is latency, not skill dictates success or fail and it sets in stone who can and who can't do certain content. At least if you prefer melee.

    It used to be a well placed Stone Skin would eliminate threats like that. Of course we had all our AoE stuff removed and I don't know for sure what good Stone Skin is anymore.

    The primals are meant to feel epic and all powerful.. If they couldn't one-shot you then it just wouldn't fit.

    Depends on the combat. Lacking actual meaningful debuffs, no meaningful buffs to keep on players,no skillchain/dual techs/triple techs/quad techs, no meaningful strategy behind using a limit break besides "THIS IS A BURN PHASE WE NEED TO USE AOE LIMIT BREAK OR SINGLE TARGET", and no offensive dispel outside of monks, which doesn't work on most things in bahamut's coil dumbs down the combat greatly and removes a lot of things that could exist.
