Veteran rewards

I am interested in the Veteran rewards offered from subscribing to the game (I am nowhere near the end of my included time from the purchase of the game) but I am just curious as to how the system works in regards to treating subscription versus game time cards.

I wish to obtain all 3 (currently available) ranks of veteran rewards today when the maintenance is over, but I am unsure if i should be subscribing via credit card or just using a game time card to fulfill the 90 day requirement. On some MMO's, veteran rewards are not automatically awarded on next log in regardless how long you have subscribed and fully paid for, yet grant the rewards instantly if a game time card is used instead.

Should I subscribe using a credit card or use a game time card to obtain all 3 ranks of veteran rewards instantly?

On a somewhat related note - I wish to alter the ''tribe'' of my race using the rank 1 veteran reward as I am finding the cat eyes somewhat unnerving. Is this included in the character alteration veteran reward?

This is the part which I am not 100% sure on. The wording gives me cause for concern over which method to add time to my account. I can freely use either but I just wish to make sure I choose the method that will grant me the rewards on day 1.

Later it won't matter if you use a credit card or time cards as you will receive the reward Day 1 regardless BUT at this point i think it's only possible to get veteran rewards through time cards. You have to be charged to receive the rewards but as far as I know SE won't charge until our free month is over.
As for the Phial of Fantasia you can change everything exept birthday, god, starting class and name, so a tribe change should be possible.

Not entirely true. My character's eyes creeped me out so when I got my bottle for being a 1.0 player, I changed his eyes to a normal color and it let me change my character's guardian. I chose not to change it but it did let me.

Also, I added my debit card to the automatic renewal and for.some.odd reason it charged me $1.00 I'm not sure if it was to see if the account was real or as a place holder. But it did charge me.

This is what i actually imagined to be the case. I wont get credit for the Veteran rewards until Squeenix charges me something. And since my included time is not even remotely close to expiring, i wont be charged for a full month yet, 31 days.

So i will need to purchase and apply time cards in order to receive the rewards today.

If you're in EU - the only option to receive the Veteran Rewards is to use the 60 days prepaid cards. If you're in NA / US you'll be unable to receive the rewards until your current free days will expire even if you'll use prepaid cards as they're recharging your Crysta rather than adding days directly to your sub as in EU.

The bottle you got allowed you to change everything, due to 1.0 being a tad more limited than what it is now.
What OP is talking about is rather limited.

It is unfortunally - it has been posted officially by the devs two weeks back - can't find the thread now but it was listed under dev tracker originally.

And if they choose to increase the included time again, as much a benefit it is to us, it is also a punishment as it delays when we get or can start earning our vet rewards.
