GP background regeneration possible?

Would it be possible to let GP regenerate passively in the background?

I don't mean always starting with full GP immediately when switching to a gathering class (like crafters start with full CP) because that would be easy to abuse.

Instead, let our GP regenerate and keep track of the total in the background.

So if you haven't used GP in a while and you then switch to a gathering class you would have full GP from the start... but if you had just gathered and used up all your GP, switching back and forth between classes wouldn't reset you to full. Kind of like a global cooldown for GP. I hope I'm explaining that coherently. ^^;

For gatherers who are collecting Lv 50 unspoiled node items, it would mean we can actually do something like crafting while waiting for the next node instead of just standing around doing nothing.

I really hope so, because the ridiculous cost in GP for our abilities is an utter joke compared to the stupidly slow regen rate of our GP. Sure, I have this nifty ability to make my shard harvesting 3 times more effective, but I'm only able to use it once every 10 minutes due to its insane GP cost.

That's what Cordial is for, I've been able to do up to three unspoiled gathering points in a timeframe since I always carry a few in my inventory.

Even those have a 4 minute cooldown though so its a pain. I get what the OP is saying though.. when I'm out mining I like being able to switch jobs and catch a nearby FATE and then go back to mining.. emptying my GP in the process. Also the time it takes to be able to use abilities sucks. I'll change to my SMN and the FATE will nearly be over by the time I can actually cast something. If you aren't in battle you shouldn't have to wait quite to long for your skills to become available.
