I want a 30 day free trial code to use at my own discretion when I feel the game is fit to be played. I paid for this game on release, have barely played the game since and refuse to play a game riddled with constant server issues and networking errors. By the time this product is working in a playable form that meets retail standards my 30 day free trial and 7 day consolation trial will likely have ran out and I will have to pay for a subscription just to get access to what should have been a trial period in which I could happily play and evaluate this game with my friends. I absolutely refuse to pay for a subscription without having a full 30 days uninterrupted (accepting maintenance within fair reason) in which to play this game in the way it was intended. If this is not provided to me and everyone else who has been shafted by this shoddy release I'll be involving trading standards and making sure that I get a full refund, after which no more money will be traded between me and Square-Enix for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
Square-Enix reserve the right to close servers for maintenance and suspend/discontinue the service at any time, but I also reserve the right to a 30 day free trial as advertised on the product packaging. Their packaging is carefully marked and makes it fully clear that maintenance may take place, but they did not advertise that the game would be unplayable for half the players and that advertised features, such as the free 30 day trial, would be virtually unusable for the majority of people who bought and activated the game on release. As of right now Square-Enix are in violation of our consumer rights by selling a product which is defective, not of satisfactory condition and not as advertised, and owe every single one of us a full 30 day free trial in which to play this game when it is actually fit to be played.
Call me a cry baby and tell me to go home all you want, I'm off to play Diablo 3.
