    I would have to agree, except right now there aren't really any fights that provide ideal conditions for MNK and DRG. Way too much dodging, target switching, and flat out being off target for extended periods. Not that I'm complaining, because I still love my Monk, but SE should really look into things like adjusting the duration of Greased Lightning and other necessary Monk buffs that don't last very long.

    Yea seriously it is a bit ridiculous considering i have to get to 3 stacks of grease before i can even start to reach max dps, which means 3 full rotations. You will barely reach this when pulling trash mobs in dungeons except maybe on the 3 mob if it is a group of three, mean while bard, drg, smn, and blm just unleash their full potential from the start just about (exception is drg since they do have a few positional requirements for debuffs/ buffs)

    Then when we talk about bosses a lot of them have moves that take them completely off the battle field or a mass aoe you need to run from. Ifrits charges and garudas shriek for example. By the time those are done with, grease is gone and you need to re build all the stacks over again.

    I had to setup my forum login because this is the most dumbest thing posted here.

    It's not that's TANKS do no damage, or that HEALERS heal, but melee DPS gets penalized for doing the right thing. People are dealing with the troubles of having to dodge things because they stand where the cleave/360 AOE attacks are... but why should they have to do things like go through full rotations just to get back to being buffed/at an optimal stage for full DPS after they have already gotten to this stage earlier? It's not the same as having to refresh your own buffs or make sure that you are flanking something to get the extra effect, but if you want to do the right thing by the healer, or in some stages you just don't want to get one-shotted, why should my DPS go down?

    I used to be a Pugilist. It was nice seeing the moves and what not, but I got tired of moving around and stacking to get optimum damage. Went THM and the DPS life is a lot simpler/more functional PUG/MNK is more exciting, but THM/BLM/ARC/BRD is more functional imo. But say they gave MNK/DRG buffs....we'd probably go from everyone thats a mnk/drg complaining to every dps thats not a mnk complaining about mnk/drg being OP lol

    As a monk I honestly don't mind having to get up to 3 stacks before my dps starts, makes me feel like I'm powering up mid fight. What I do mind however is the duration of some of the buffs, MNKs didnt get duration increases on their traits like DRGs did. I think it would really help them if they got an increase to the durations.

    I tried to play a melee class after getting my summoner job to level 50 but it just didn't work out like I had hoped it would. I do agree that melee classes are indeed more challenging and you do get penalized more often with being able to only do low damage as compared to a ranged DPS. I don't however think that any of the range DPS need to be nerfed. In any FF game I always favored playing a ranged DPS and I always thought that ranged DPS classes are great and to me they still are because they are more functional. Especially, SMN, BLM, BRD because we do tons of damage and sit comfortably in the backrows. I sincerely hope that SE will fix the melee class damage because I want to try out another melee class but not at the cost of suffering constant damage penalties.

    That's what I was thinking. Buff duration was more of the issue here.
    Something like an increase in buff duration by a few seconds if you successfully dodge an AOE attack that would have hit you because you were standing in the area WHEN IT WAS PLACED as to not abuse it by running in and back out. That way it benefits ANYONE who does the right thing, be they a tank, DPS or healer.

    Hey don't get me wrong, I wish that my personal choice in class was more effective, but mnks bring more to the table than just mediocre damage. They also have mantra, which in my opinion is over powered compared to every other classes in terms for raid-wide defensive cooldowns. I cant explain how many wipes occur due to lack of healing throughput. Also DRG bring a raid wide dps increase. I mean your gonna run into a bunch of ignorant ppl who are gonna say, "hey, um.... this fight is more of a rng dps thing...." but a smart group will bring at least 1 MNK and DRG for at least utility's sake
