    the balance is fine -- melee have the ST limit break which is extremely valuable.

    it's not like encounters aren't doable if you're melee, so i don't really see a problem. especially since this game has handled it better than others by making it so you absolutely NEED at least one melee for the limit break. ranged is always the easier option in MMO's -- melee is inherently more challenging and (IMO) more fun due to that. always has been, always will.

    Ranged has also always done more damage in addition to being easier to play and easier to heal. Yeah, there are no balance issues here. /eyeroll

    Implying Meteor doesn't do tons of damage on it's own...

    Melee have more raw dps but have less uptime on boss which lower their dps. It doesn't make them and you still need at least 1 of them in an 8-man group for LB.

    I never played a game where melee DPS is as bad as it is in this game. It's a fucking disgrace seeing these ranged dps just stand on one spot and out dps me while I have to constantly dodge attacks and dance around to do max damage.

    This is honestly what makes ranged dps seem so...boring to me. I'm not level 50 so I haven't seen endgame so I am curious how bad melee truly have it or if this is just exaggerating.

    This is only really a problem for me when fight mechanics impact my fun factor for choosing melee (monks really could use an increased duration for greased lightning...) or when I am being denied a spot in a group because I am melee. Ranged usually have an easier time, but does this game make the mistake of making melee borderline not viable?

    I'd hate to be rejected from groups because I chose monk, regardless of my skill.

    No offense but almost every MMO favor ranged dps. The more complicated boss get, the more range dps are favored.

    I think MNKs and DRGs scale very well with gear, and are the best DDs (as it should be, except maybe for SMNs who need NURFS), at least under ideal conditions
