Ive got a theory. I belive SE is trying to rake in the cash, now hear me out.
Gil is perty much impossible to obtain. Markets have crashed and everything is about 1 gil. How do you make gil is the common question i hear all the time. So SE creates an army of so called Gilsellers that actually work for SE. If they where serious abot Banning gilsellers they would have thought ahead and already have counter measures in place. I mean look at all the other MMOs that have come out in the past 2 years they are plagued as well. To think they had no idea is naive.
Why not have a SE employee in each of the 3 cities ready with the ban button. Or hire a third party to do it for them.
Anyway you look at it somethings not right.

What? Conspiracy theories now? It's because people actually go to those sites, get hacked and then they use that character to spam messages. Among other things. I forgot where but someone quoted maintenance notes and they already banned 800+ of them.

Tons of characters maxed out Gil in version 1, RMT ramped up after version 2 got announced so they probably have a huge stockpile with 1000s of characters, so they going all out to shift it

The vast majority of people whose accounts have been compromised have never purchased Gil through RMT. They're being compromised by keyloggers they got on legitimate sites, or because they used the same password for this game as they do for various fansites. They're guilty of nothing more than being ignorant about internet security.
