Companion Ranking

I was just curious if anyone has figured out what contributes most to your companion moving up in ranks

using it to slay enemies really.. once i got it slaying an enemy at lvl 30.. or switching to a lvl 1 class and killing enemies looked about the same gain in ranking... not sure if its true though.... just looked that way

I was curious as well I know Rank 10 is the highest, but I was leveling THM from 18-26 an my chocobo went up to rank 2 and 3/4 I was doing like 50 FATES back to back to back. had like 9000+ maelstrom seals.

I wish there was a way to spend yp their ranking like doing Chocobo missions

There's a GC buff that increases companion exp gains by 5% but whether it's worth using I don't know.

if you have u rcompanion out, and kill a mob, you will see on your log smth along the line of:

"You gained 200 conjurer experience points (+100%)
You gained 100 experience points"

...and this is not present when your companion is not out.

So i am inclined to to believe that the 100 experience points (in this case), which is the base of the xperience point you gained from killing, is what the companion got.

I was wondering the same thing as when he gets 2 10 will we get the armor that goes with the stance we get?

Chocobo ranks seem to go up so slowly, it will take *alot* of grinding

Yes Luluccia, it takes a very long time. I'm encroaching on Rank 6 and 1-3 took about 5 hours of constant grinding monsters 5 lvls lower. 3-5 took about 25 hours. I'm easily 15 hours into 5-6 and almost there. Even with the choco leeching xp off me, I've still gone from 37-40 just from leveling him. Also... He holds aggro!
