Moonfire Faire - How Do We Win?

I have been in a number of these FATEs and each time it ends in Failure. Yes, you still receive Wet Ashes when you fail, and that's nice of SE. What I'd like to know is how to win one of these entertaining little zerg-fests.

I am currently tagging each of those floating sun-things with DOTs and stoning them as best I can. The big sun-thing can't be targeted, so I can't go after it. What's the strategy? Obviously, simply killing lots of the little sun-things isn't working.

The strategy you are using is the correct one the problem is the needed number of people isn't enough, another thing that can help is clicking on the balloons that are in the fate, if you do that the bombards will be atracted to the balloon and you will be able to protect the npcs and deal AOE damage.

There are NPCs? I thought it was the balloons I was supposed to protect... dinger, never saw a failure though. I thought it wasn't possible to fail this event.

I've also only seen it fail.

Are the NPCs the giant bubble guys, or something else?

Is it 'little bubble guys attacking the giant bubble guys?' The thing is rather confusing and I hate playing in the 'just tag it all and run around like a fool' mode...

the big bomb and the npc's in the incredibly bad swimsuits are untargetable, by you. the little bombs however can target them, and kill them.

use the bomb balloons to draw huge groups of little bombs away from the npcs in swimsuits so they can kill the big bomb.

success is when the npcs kill big bomb, failure is when the little bombs and big bomb kill all the swimsuit npcs.

I thought the same thing lol. At least in the Costa Del Sol Fate it seems to be over quick with a success everytime. Then again I see alot of people bouncing between Fates so they may be just overwhelming it.

Here's the trick. Don't do the level 5 version! That one fails every time because nobody has any AOE attacks to take out the bombs quickly. Do the ones that are a little higher level. I believe the one in Central Thanalan is level 15, for example. A few THM spamming Blizzard 2 will kill everything.

If you look at the rules, you actually have to protect the NPCs you see in green fighting (forgot the names) There is 100 in total usually and they die very fast. And if not enough players do the FATE, it usually ends in failure.
