    Healing Gear stat confusion

So, I see a lot of threads about MND vs PIE, etc. etc. Or what are the stat priorities for Sch or Whm and I see people include the stat Determination in their priority list. I think I might be missing something or don't understand what this stat does. After searching the internet, the stat increases damage output and healing received... not healing output. I did some tests with my gear with and without determination and my HP potency in fact did not go up with increased determination.

Can someone explain to me why Determination is on almost every piece of healing gear? Why are healers including it in their priority stat list? I have a pretty strong feeling I am completely overlooking something.

I believe this was detailed in another post on this very forum, can't remember where though. So might wanna browse a bit for a more in-depth explanation.

But the general gist is, for Scholar at least : Mind > Crit > Piety > Determination
Determination is, afaik, not terribly important to healers, but having some never hurts in case you take aggro or an AoE, in which case being able to heal yourself back up fast can be pretty beneficial.

Or quite possibly I'm overlooking something as well..

Sorry I looked around for awhile and I couldn't find anything. It just really seems odd that they would put this stat on most of the healing gear when the ONLY possible use it could serve is to heal ourselves... but crit or +hp potency would also accomplish the same but also allow us to heal others for more as well.

But again, det = self heals only, while +hp potency and crit = self heal + anyone else you heal. I'm still unclear to why determination would even be a stat on healing gear. And "some" determination on our gear would be understandable, but it is on MOST of our gear. For example, 4/5 Darklight of healing has determination.(Only piece that has crit is Darklight Breeches of Healing).

"But the general gist is, for Scholar at least : Mind > Crit > Piety > Determination" I don't see why it's even in the list of stats to go for, in my mind Determination is in the same category as Int for healers as far as usefulness goes.

Fairly certain determination increases the potency of cures even when cast on other players, it's just a small enough bonus (It's less effective than MND) that you likely won't notice it if you just increased a few points.

Okay, I did a bunch of testing and it does in fact boost my heals even though HP potency doesn't change at all. Thanks for the help everyone.
