Grand Company Promotion Issue

I just finished my requirements for my next promotion with my GC. However when I go to apply for the promotion I am told that I still have to do a trial. However I just finished the Darkhold trial. I even turned in the quest and everything. It is as if it just never happened. I cant even accept a second trial from the commander to see if doing another will help. I am a Chief Storm Sergeant currently. Has anyone else had this issue? If it matters, I achieved my current rank in 1.0. not sure if that matters or not.

You have to finish the main story. You'll receive a quest from your GC commander to go to Amdapor Keep once you do.

Ah, I am currently still working on the main story. That would most likely explain my inability to promote. I am currently on the quest "the curious case of giggity" if tht means anything.
