    Random Crashes

Hello guys, I've been having some random crashes where the screen just turns black and the game shuts down. It's getting kind of annoying since I get some of those crashes while doing leves and I automatically fail it.

I run the game no problems while I'm on standard and low settings. The crashes are usually after a long time of playing, maybe it has something to do with my card overheating? I'm not sure if it's that since I have a corsair 650w and the way the game shuts down doesn't look like it has something to do with gpu. However, I do experience high temperatures after long gaming sessions. So if there's anything there is that could help me I would much appreciate it. Thank you

Crashes after long gaming sessions of FFXIV can sometimes be attributed to RAM. You only have 2 GB of RAM, and for many people the longer you play FFXIV, the more RAM it begins to use.. until it reaches a certain point and causes you to crash.

You're walking the border of minimum specifications to run the game. I don't have any good recommendations, other than to restart the game every so often.

While his specs are low, I'd wager it's not his system. There is clearly something wrong with the game that is causing a lot of random crashes for a lot of people, including those well above the minimum or even recommended system specs.

Well yeah I know my specs are low and I'm going to be adding more RAM anytime soon. For the time being I started to use Game Booster and it has helped a little bit. Thanks for your response

It IS a FFXIV problem. There's no mistaking that. But it seems like almost everyone who's running the game with minimum specifications has a high crash rate, so it's difficult to attribute the problem to any one thing.

I'm running a 3.2ghz 6-core, 8 gigs of ddr3, and a 460GTX, and I can't stay in game for more than 5-10 minutes without crashing. I run WoW and Rift flawlessly. I produce professional audio on the same system, which is just as taxing on the hardware as gaming, if not more. It's not system specs or stability, it's something in-game.

Strangely enough, it may be character-related. I had the same problem with my previous system that my little brother now uses. He doesn't have the problem. My new system still crashes as well. The only thing that remains the same is the account I log into.

The biggest problem is that there appears to be no error log. There's no way for us to know what's going on, and worse yet, no way for us to relay that information back to Square. They really need to add some kind of error log so we can get this problem worked out.
