This game is so flashy, can I change that?

Now, this game is beautiful and I love almost everything about it (except the combat, I'm sure you've seen me complain about it), but there's something that's actually causing physical problems!

So, as you know, SE loves big, flashy animations. Every attack looks like a bomb is going off or some lightshow is going on, and it's so bright and flashy all the time... well it's causing problems for my eyes. Is there a way to reduce the amount of flashy stuff from abilities?

Yes, actually, you can change it. In one of the tabs of Character Configuration are three options where you can set the level of effects you see. Further, there's also a setting for effects visible while you're moving. I don't remember the tab offhand, though.
