So I'm on a crossroads in terms of what get to get.

Currently I've got 580 tomes of myth (240/300) and 355 tomes of phil which I'm saving up for relic.

By the end of next week I'll have 940 tomes of myth.

All my gear is DL except for pants and 2nd ring which is hoplite.

I've got hoplite head, body, pants and legs.

So at this point, I've narrowed it down to either getting the pants (825) or ring + leg (870).

I also did some stat comparisons of the gear as well.

I noticed that the pants, body and arms are better than their allagan counterparts as well, however my FC isn't even ready for Titan atm.

    Valor pants: 13 str 15 vit 10 parry 24 accuracy -17 crit

Hero Ring: 7 vit 3 parry 5 accuracy

    Valor Legs: 8 str 9 vit 15 parry 10 accuracy -10 deter

    + ring = 8 str 16 vit 18 parry 15 accuracy -10 deter

    Other:

    Valor Gauntlet: 6 str 6 vit 10 parry 15 crit -16 accuracy

    Valor Surcoat: 6 str 8 vit 2 parry 17 deter 15 accuracy -30 crit

Acc should be a priority until cap. Do not go into coil undervaluing Accuracy.

    Why?

Determination does not increase the healing you receive from others' healing spells.
Every 4 points or so of determination is like having having 1 point in strength. I would place parry (to hit next tier) over det.
    Threat, mainly stronger flash.

You can go down the route I am going. If you get a drop in BC just don't replace it. Always replace lowest ilvl first.

I'm curious, I haven't seen anyone even testing it with PLD's, but where's the numbers for dex benefits? There's quite a bit of a mitigation advantage from hitting certain dex walls for Warriors (from what I've been seeing on their stat analysis), has there been any look into the benefit/cost for us PLD's yet?

Show me a piece of gear on the gear list that has dex and you'll find your answer.

Hey Pixel, your thread are awesome, loved it

I have question here as well

You seems to place Curtana +1 as first priority (from quote) my friends says should get Holy Shield +1 first and can skip Sword because its worthless....

I dunno what is true and why

Mathematically threat is determined by weapon damage then strength then determination. That being said if you want to raise the threat ceiling for your group you should definitely pick the sword up first. To be fair every other class needs 900 mythos to +1 their weapon whereas you can +1 both your sword and shield for the same cost. There really is no reason not to do so.

Hey Pixel, any chance you'll add consumables to the guide? I've found two googledocs on food stuffs, but it would be nice if you'd have just a summary here as a reference for the future. Ideally it would be tier'd by the amount of Vit you need to get the most of the chosen nom. Maybe later I'll look into this myself.

Also: what about potions? I've honestly must say I haven't used any yet since I've finished leveling, and I think that's my mistake, especially since we're headed to Coil ATM. I've defeated Titan yesterday :3

EDIT: Made a short list myself in the end. It's sorted by the vitality you need to have to reach the full potential of the chosen dish. It's all only NQ, I didn't manage to find reliable data on HQ pieces, sorry. Clearly the best choice right now is La Noscean Toast HQ, which BTW should be less expensive than the Finger Sandwich. HQ Eft Steak Gives you 1 more point of Vitality, but you lose 23 points of parry - not worth it in my opinion:

    Finger Sandwich
    Vitality 2% (Max: 15) 750
    Parry 3% (Max: 22) 734
    Accuracy 2% (Max: 9)

    Finger Sandwich HQ

Amazing contribution! Gave you a shout out in the updates section. When I reordered the food to fit into the stat weight formula I noticed there was a conflict on what you thought was better. The main thing I can convey is threat is very important, almost more sore than "the chance to mitigate" (parry). You can not parry spells. So the way I see it is you can generate threat at all times, you can use EH at all times, but you can only parry if its a melee attack. Due to the mechanics the food is listed the way that it is. Consistency over chance.
