    Registration code scratched out?

    So I apologize if the answer to this was in an obvious place but... My friend ordered a physical copy of FF14 from SE. When he got his physical copy, half of the registration code that he needed to play the game was scratched out...

    I tried searching everywhere for a live chat support or a phone number where he could call them, but I could not find either one. The only thing I could find was a way to send a ticket. Again I apologize if the live chat or customer support phone number is in an obvious place but could anyone help me out here?

    Already been there, all it allows me to do is make a ticket, does not give me live chat or a phone number. As for whether the case was sealed when he got it, I do not know, though I would assume it was. I will ask him when he gets home.

    That's what I was going to ask. Sounds like he might have bought a game that had been returned to the store, stuff like this is why most stores (at least decent ones) won't take back opened PC games.

    Wow that definitely looks to be a major headache as you said... so I see what the phone number is now, but how do you get to the chat? Is the chat any better than the phone customer service?

    Looks like he bought a used copy. He didn't buy it from SE. They haven't sold any copies for weeks. He needs to return it to the store, or try to get his money back because he got ripped off.

    Evidently chat is hit or miss. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. The real way to get there? I'm not sure. The time I got there I found a link to it on the tech forums that we are in now. Phone customer service is how i resolved my issue. I would recommend the phone. But, it only takes getting a hold of someone once to fix your problem. I'd try both ways at the same time and make it a game.
