Reset side quests when changing class/job

I don't know if this has been suggested but i think this will help a lot in taking pressure off FATE grinding a bit. Also addition of new side quests is also needed because right now they are not just enough for even two classes.

I hope SE takes this into suggestion because i read nothing about side quests in next two upcoming patches.

I don't think that is best solution... side quests are the story of the world around you and if you "reset" them, you are breaking that...

Guildleves, Guildhests, Fates, Dungeons, (am I missing something else?)... these should be enough, and if they are not, that is what needs to be adjusted accordingly. Keep in mind you get XP boost for classes below your highest level class.

Edit: More class-specific side quests would go a long way though. But keep them centralized to single NPC in each camp perhaps... so that there isn't a flood of Red quest icons everywhere.

You're missing the per class hunting log and grand company hunting log.

Part of the appeal of FFXIV to me is that I only have to go through all the quests once. I hated leveling alts and doing quests over. I'll dungeon or FATE grind happily

I think you are getting the leveling concept backwards. Guildleves, Guildheists, FATEs, Dungeons, class quests, hunting logs, etc. are the normal way of leveling. The producer believed that all players should have a chance to experience "real" game content without much time investment so they game quests with enormous amounts of experience give your first class a free ride to lvl 50. Did you notice that there's no way to level up DoH or DoL quickly (there're no quests)? All of the other classes have no reason to get a free ride to lvl 50 (as you have one class to experience the game content) and the leveling rate is back to normal. As this is an MMO, players are intended to play the game for years, and years it will take to level all of your classes.

Actually, if you do a quest on a DoW or DoM you can switch to a DoH or DoL class and get the exp assuming your DoH/L is high enough lvl for the quest.

For DoH/DoL, you can also just use levequests, since those give ridiculous amounts of EXP for HQ mats/crafts, and often let you turn in the items and collect the rewards up to 3 times per levequest.

I like it the way it is to a certain extent. I have some friends with really crappy computers and they have a hard time running the fates. I think the fates should be more spread out between the levels. I mean there is more than coerthas to grind fates at. Unfortunately everyone thinks that is the place to be. If you can get into a zone with a decent amount of ppl to run fates with it goes pretty smoothly. Weekends are almost impossible to fate grind because of the sheer amount of ppl doing it. Fates are over before you can even get to them...

Once you start leveling a second and third class then let me know if you feel the same. Guildhests xp diminishes and gives good XP only the first time. There is no main scenario to boost your xp, dungeon xp is crap as all know it. Leves are shared on character so if you are also crafting and gathering then better not touch those leves. So all you are left with is hunting log, class quest which unlocks every 5 levels and is as good as nothing and FATES..yes.. in the end everything just comes down to FATES. That is why i suggested reseting of side quests to give players a break from FATE grinding.

The GC logs don't really do much for exp. They only reward seals, so it's really just the generic mob exp you'd earn from doing them, the same as just killing random mobs.

But yeah, they really should do something about exp outside of FATE, even if it's just buffing dungeon exp (or granting a daily bonus, like the first-time bonus). Hopefully by 5.1
