    Speed Run Patch Side Effect - Threat issues

    How exactly did SE fix the speed run exploit. To me it appears that when someone agros a trash pack they automatically put like +100 enmity on the entire group so that if the agroer dies they come after the rest of the group.

    It's got to be something like that, because I am having engage threat issues I never use to have. What I mean by this is I run up to tank a pack of trash and upon agroing them, they go straight for the healer.

    What I think is happening is upon agroing (via sight) a trash pack, everyone in the group get's enimity on all the trash so we can't speed run because of that. But because the whm has regen/dots/stoneskin etc etc on me (the agroer) the entire trash pack goes straight for the whm.

    I find myself having to pop 2 or 3 flashes/ or 3 overpowers just to hold trash mobs on the initial engage. Once I have them, I have them, but it's a real pita picking them up. We got to a point where we just had the whm run in with the tank so I could get off some flashes without them running all over the place.

    If that is indeed how you fixed speed runs SE... Do you think you could make the agroer get more enimity than the rest of the group... it's really annoying.

    If the healer opens up with regen, it's the regen itself that seems to cause a hate spike on the healer even if they perform no other actions once the tank engages the mob. I found this out the hard way in an Ifrit fight, upon casting regen on tank beforehand I thought it would be a good move to do to give them a bit of HP regen as they ran in to hold the mob, but once they engaged the one tick of HP regen went off and all the hate was on me for a bit.

    they fixed the speed run exploit by putting packs of mobs right at the doorways to bosses that act like a key.
    Need to kill them to open door

    While also putting a bunch more extra packs and patrols littered throughout making a normal run take even longer than before though i think the actual reason was to fill out possible speed run nooks


    What needs to happen imo is some serious hp reduction on trash
    Like killing a pack of those winged dog things shouldn't take like 3 minutes

    As Airget said, it's regen.
    Tell your WHM to not start off by giving you regen, it should only be casted after the tank already established some aggro.

    Also, as they guy above me said, they threw in some extra trash to block in some places as well as made some of the trash act like keys to unlocking the doors.

    They've also increased speed(?) on some trash to make them able to hit the tank while he's running. Either that or they made the attack range longer for some of the trash.

    Yeah, I'll pay better attention tonight, it could just be the healers putting regen on me before I engage, but it's seriously annoying O.o

    Have your White Mage Stoneskin you prior to the pull, and if he or she puts Regen on you, click it off before running in.

    i agree with the reduced trash HP, runs take way to long just spamming on trash.

    also, dungeons should be 5 man, 1 more dps, this helps in so many ways

    Optionally... SE could make the agroer (the tank usually) get buffer enmity so that whm's can precast regen. It's nice to have regen on going into a trash pull. Sometimes (if theres a bad link or something) the whm doesn't have time to cast regen (to much dmg going out to skip a heal).
