R10 Culinarian Taskboard Quest Giving Wrong Reward

I'm not 100% sure whether this is a bug or not but the questgiver said I would be rewarded 5000 gil but I only got the 100 fire shards. He does mention a 'select few' would receive the reward of gil but I'm not sure if that is just the wording or if it means only the first few people to turn it in will get the gil reward? Included screenshot for clarity.

The reward is random. especially the gil reward. sometimes they even give you 5 shards instead of 100.

I have been randomly given 0, 3000, and 3500 gil so far.

Thank you for posting in the forum! I can see why you would be reporting the current concern as a bug. As Reika previously stated, it can be quite random. The thread has been moved from In-Game Bugs to Quests since it is more related to that. Thanks!

If it is intentionally random, then maybe the quest text should be corrected to reflect that? The NPC says "here is the coin promised" and then hands Hubert a bunch of shards. That makes no sense.

The quest text does say reward is random....at least most of them do. All they do is to say which reward is the current best one, like 100 shards or 5000 gil...but receiving this or something else is 100% random.

I think there's "fatigue" for doing guild tasks. If I do the same tasks too many times in a row(like if I do the weaver task 4-5 resets in a row) I start to get crap. Before this, I would always get the right reward and extra gil sometimes. My friend also started to get crap from doing them every reset.

its random. I always delivery with 2 characters and they very often receive different rewards.
