I did most of my crafter leveling in 1.x, but if you are looking for a quick grind pick items that stack, and require the fewest ingredients. I'm not entirely familiar with Culinarian, but taking a quick look at a level-filtered recipe database (http://xivdb.com/?search/!filters/Il...JPUkRFU0M6Ig==) it looks like "Sweet Cream" would be a good place to start, unless for some reason "Buffalo Milk" is unusually expensive.
My experience as a Blacksmith and Armourer tells me that when you want to grind out those metal-using classes (and NOT use leves), your best bet is making ingots, and then make those ingots into sheets/rings/rivets/et cetera because you can get double the experience with only a single set of original materials. There is obviously a level gap, so after you make the ingots, hang on to them for a couple of levels.
The skill-use rotation you'll just have to play by ear based on your stats and crafting gear.
Also, sorry, but I just have to say this.... The word that you are looking for is "carpentry."
