E3 2011 Predictions

Ok, so E3 this year is Early June (Starts June 7th I believe) and with the new development team and the planned changes, I'm sure hoping that FFXIV would have a presence at this year's E3.

So with that, what things would you like to see (regarding FFXIV) come out of E3 this year?

My votes are for:

1. PS3 Release Date
2. Video + gameplay of the latest editions/changes
3. PS3 client up and running on the show floor.
4. Video of upcoming changes planned for the game

My guess is that by the time E3 is here, we'll be getting patch 1.19 at or the week after E3... I'm guessing they are going to show off the new battle system, the Materia system, job system, and some other features about the game as well.

They will use this time to start generating buzz for the PS3 release, and show off some of the bosses and dungeons that are ether in the game, or about to be in the game.

What are your thoughts?

IF they even show anything, it'll probably be some hype video with maybe 10 seconds of gameplay total.

Has a game ever appeared on E3 after it has been released?

I figured they would have a pre-launch event of their own and invite press there, but I guess showing the game off at E3 is also a possibility.

You all might be right, and they might not show it off, but I feel it would be an opportunity missed if that was the case. Giving Yoshi-P more press time with the american gaming world. Have him talk about what they are planning to do with the game. Show of Chocobos...

I guess what I'm saying with this is, if they have it planned and can show it off, and even say that this is planned for the Summer, fall, winter, then they should show it off...

With the PS3 version sometime in the future, I think it will give people the ability to take a second look at the game after all the current updates, and with the future ones planned.

I personally think it's in SE and the game's best interest to not show anything to the non-playing public until it's actually been added to the game. Sneak previews and hype are all well and good, but not for a game that has a (deserving) reputation for spectacularly failing to live up to the hype. Yoshi just needs to lay back in the buckwheat and work hard on this game. Show it to the press after its fixed, not before.
