    i kind of agree the latency issues are an issue obviously they are not fixing it, so we are having to deal with it, but the latency can get really bad at busy times, but those are the times you want to do dungeons and raids right.

    Lag is killing alot of players, not everyone has fiber and even some with it probably have problems, its been said before but Europe could really use Europe data centers, at least then if we fail, its us being slow
    not the latency.

    I'm in the US and played on NA datacenter. Trust me when I say it's not just the EU players experiencing this. The netcode for this game is abhorrent. My ISP isn't fantastic (cable 1.2mbps down, .6mbps up) but I don't experience this in any other game.

    If SE still hasn't fixed this issue when the sub start, I ll just quit and back to play WoW.
    Vote with your wallet like how FF14 1.0 ended so SE will fix and improve their game.

    What is the point of continuing playing a game when what I would do is memorizing boss scripted pattern, anticipating and keep moving before the boss using 1-shoted attack on me and pray that I wont get hit by it BECAUSE what I see on my screen is just false.

    Titan HM is not hard, but the problem with Titan HM is the challenge is not against the boss it self, the challenge is against the broken positioning check system.

    Can't wait to hear the news about "FFXIV: The Reborn of The Realm Reborn" next year.

    There is something wrong with that fight. If I wait till I see the red line its too late. This is the only fight I have trouble getting out of the aoe so I dont think Im lagging. The only way I could beat it is to keep moving all the time. That way I know if he is casting at me but im not seeing it yet Ill still be sure to be moving out of it.

    This needs to be emphasized. If Titan is the only fight where Im having the issue, then its not my internet.

    Seems you're living in the US and playing in NADC so I assume there's no serious lag problem. I pretty much invested on desktop PC so I guess I don't have hardware issues. How about your spec of PC?

    It's said that the timing to decide whether you take the AoE hit or not is right on when the red disappears.
    Considering the micro second lag(somehow no matter where you are), you can say it happens right before the red disappears.

    In other words, you can get back to the red as soon as it disappears without taking any hit, even it looks you're totally cooked lol
    If there's no problem with your PC, you can check if it's really so for you next time.

    P.S. Try to run first whatever you do as soon as you see the red.

    fiber doesnt really help anything on this game.
    I'm from europe and i got fiber connection, and the bosses inside the dungeon have there aoes lagging like hell..
    But the bosses from fates, with over 100 people on screen and FPS drastically lowered duo to that, have theres aoes working much better. (so its not a pc problem)

    the connection lantency(100~120ms in my case) + the 300ms lag (that yoshi thinks is acceptable) + dungeons server = around 1 second delay -.- Unacceptable!!

    One option means he lied about it being fixed for ARR. The other means he is incompetent, since other directors seem able to hire programmers capable of solving this issue- even on some lesser successful games. Take your pick.

    PS- I hope he lives up to his promise and fixes it, but with all the time elapsed I think he won't.
    As sad as it sounds, anyone able to reason and use logic, should reach this same conclusion. Yet still one can rationalize (maybe SE didn't think we care about this? or maybe..) and hope for a change.

    As long as you are out of the aoe mark or w/e is the indication of incoming damage and have STOPED moving at least once outside said mark you should not get hit at all. ever. if you do you got lags.

    It's not possible if you started to cast a spell non instant. If you have to interrupt your spell to move out, your position is still considered inside casting. You have to do an instant spell when out. On such a short time, it's an extremely uneasy thing to do.

    Here's my suggestion for solving this:
    1. Get the client to send a position update when the player clears the red area.
    2. The server calculates whether the player takes damage when it receives the first position report after the cast completes (obviously there would have to be a timeout on this, if no position update is received then the last known position is used).

    This does not require major changes to the software or put more load on the server like reducing the update period to 0.1 second would.
