time for monthly bump yo!
This is a sentiment held by most players trying to positively contribute to this thread. It's irksome to see so many people not bothering to read the evidence presented and assume that it's just a bunch of people who hate the game, want it to fail and/or want the content nerfed. Most of us see the potential in the game and want it to succeed, but foresee that if this issue isn't fixed the games longevity will be crippled.
Fixing this is a nerf, because Titan is only hard because of that 0.3s or so of lag that makes it very hard to accurately gauge his AE and almost impossible to reflex dodge his abilities (almost all the workarounds involve memorizing his pattern). If this problem is fixed overnight by magic, you'll be able to reflex dodge the AE now that your screen actually correctly portrays what's going on, and of course the fight will be easier. I don't see how that's a bad thing, though. This is a sentiment held by most players trying to positively contribute to this thread. But if Titan is only hard because of a lag issue then it shouldn't be hard at all as surely its not designed that way. I have learnt the rotation and have to pre run thats not hard until P5 when you plumes are so crowded you can't pre run without hitting someone else or you end up messing up some other poor sod with your plumes.Fixing this is a nerf, because Titan is only hard because of that 0.3s or so of lag that makes it very hard to accurately gauge his AE and almost impossible to reflex dodge his abilities (almost all the workarounds involve memorizing his pattern). It really is discouraging that the only challenge Titan poses is not himself, but his zone server. I have done the fight successfully myself. But throughout those attempts I have died to the center bomb exploding, while sitting on the edge of the platform. I have literally jumped over his landslide and not been hit, as in I ran through it and jumped out of it half way through his landslide and it missed me. I have died to plumes spawning on others where I was outside their radius from the moment they spawned.
After reading this thread I am passing on the tricks to avoid aoes, such as not casting while running out of one, casting immediately upon exiting one, and jumping out of it.
It is silly that we have to do these things to trick the server into realizing we are not in them.
It would be nice it SE could increase the time between enemy marks an area and when the action is executed in Na and Eu servers as we don't have as good connection like people in Japan. Most people in Na an EU lives faar away from the server and also many don't have as fast internet as what normal in Japan.
This is the same problem that fantasy earth zero had when it existed in America but there it had even bigger effect on the gameplay.
Oh, I completely agree. As mentioned I have myself seen this firsthand. I was doing two things:
1. Pointing out that the video links in the OP were not at all helpful in showing the issue. It'd be nice if the clearer videos like the one you linked were in the OP.
2. The way things are unfortunately your best method of avoiding boss damage is the cast bar. I find it quite consistent as long as my link isn't lagging (someone torrenting in the house for example) and if I make it out before 80% of a cast bar it's not an issue. Anything past that though, and it's really iffy. I think this particular person has bigger latency issues than me though!
Haven't got the time to read all 100+ pages. The most recent posts talk about latency. Ok, this plays a part. I'm in the UK but play the US versions of Tera and Aion with no problems - but I'd get nowhere near them if they had that server 300ms delay built in. Our ARR servers are in Canada (go figure), but checking through the connection shows it's not that bad
You'll never be able to solve everyone's internet quality - but the removal of the 300ms delay can be done - doesn't exist in any other games I play or have played - and that's a long list - and needs to be the focus of SE's attention.
Ok, the op was fairly dramatic in their post, but the overall message is correct. This will put, or has already put, people off playing this game.
.... And still nothing from SE. It's not as if they haven't seen this thread, kinda hard to miss.
Titan feels like I'm doing the fight based off remembering his rotation, rather than reacting to his abilities.
