The sad thing is, that may have been true for their event, but it is so far off base for why people are actually failing when talking about the real world (not an event).Let's be fair, we were told: "We often hear opinions that Titan is too hard, but looking a people who were participating in the Titan Challenge we held at multiple events, not only dragoons, but everyone in general had their cameras zoomed in quite a bit. I believe this is because in FFXI and FFXIV 1.0 you couldn't zoom out very far, but in order to dodge different attacks in high level encounters in FFXIV: ARR, it’d be best if you zoom your camera out to the maximum distance." 160 pages of posts saying something is impossible, when its been reliably (without fail) killed by people playing on 4g internet connections and people in Australia.
Bads.
Pre-moving for aoe's just shows how many people have this problem and are blindly working around it. How *bad* would you be if the rotation started to be randomized and you couldn't pre-move anymore?
For the record, I have Titan on farm. I don't pre-move but I also use a VPN, and change my movement as soon as I get out, to make it so I can get out of AOEs once I see them. I do understand that there is a major flaw in the game with updates though.
I think SE missed the boat on the design of ground effects. In general, ground effects aren't hard because they kill you. They're hard because they serve as a limiting factor of DPS. Whenever you have to move, your DPS is generally compromised in some way. You obviously prefer to have a tank and spank encounter if you're trying to maximize your DPS, and against fights with serious enrage timers, any unnecessary movement cuts into the time you've to DPS the boss down. Of course, in FF14, moving has very little penalty to DPS. Only BLM is significantly impacted and even they can do the half step move before every spell finishes due to lag. The game also actually tries to kill you with ground effects, which would be okay if the not for the fact those effects can only kill you due to lag.
My friend has a good computer and connection and has trouble with the game skipping.
I don't have a great computer. Dodging is impossible for me much of the time. The combination of the computer + the already present lag problems of the game slaughters me in certain fights. It's incredibly frustrating. I can see something coming. I can start moving before it happens. It doesn't matter because I'm going to get hit anyway. And the game is so merciless about it that this will screw over the entire group.
And what can I do?
If the game keeps this broken dodging it should at least make it so that it's not insta-kill. I've been hit by things when I'm on the opposite side of the room. I've sat and watched my guy not make it because lag.
I love so much about this game and this one mechanic is making it impossible for me to keep going. I really hope the fix this at some point, because at this rate I'll probably just let my subscription run its course and quit. I'd love to play but I can't.
honestly, from what im seeing, and this is just a guess based on my personal experience, its a frame rate issue with the game itself. i would recommend everyone that has those lag issues actually move their camera in close, and if possible, face the camera away from everyone else, and all other aoe crap this game does....i normally have lag issues on chimera and titan, but when i do that, it normally helps reduce the issue for me. yes i know this is no means an actual fix, but at least a temp work around for those willing to try, since SE is f***ing retarded and claims its not their s**t
bump and pls fix this issue
