There's no way this lag can possibly be fixed because it's built into the system. The only way around it is if most abilites under 2s to cast have an extra 0.5 or so tacked onto them to account for the lag, but that'd seem to be totally against the 'hardcore' stance SE is going. And such a fix has rather significant ramifications because the game's difficulty is almost entirely based on the fact that your screen doesn't match what actually happened. If there was no lag, any halfway decent MMORPG player can dodge these AEs forever. The fact that people can still dodge them even though your screen could be 0.3s or more behind suggests the game isn't very hard to begin with. Imagine any cutting edge encounter in another MMORPG where your entire raid has to work with an extra 0.3s lag, that encounter ought to be downright impossible.
