More PEBCAK:EDIT: Another edit for the person who added this link. It's not Titan, but it shows how frustrating the AoE dodging in this game can be.

It's already been noted in this thread that those are not the best examples precisely for the reason you just highlighted. Other examples that show the issue have been posted.
I invite you to do the same pause and screencap method for both the videos I clipped from Turn 2 Coil here:

Even though I hesitated during the first one, it still illustrates the issue just fine if you pause it.

I wish PvP would come out sooner rather than later as that will definitely open the eyes of a lot of the non believers. Such low temporal resolution (~300 ms) in a modern day mmo is totally unacceptable, anyone who has played a Black Mage can see that things are not WAI or at least as advertised by playing around with astral/umbral stacks and that has nothing to do with cast bars or movement.

Get Umbral 3, cast Fire 3, and then cast Fire 1 immediately. If you do it fast enough, you can cast both spells with the 50% haste because the client is not informed of the fact that your Umbral 3 stacks are gone from the server. In this case it's advantageous to the player, though hardly makes up for the times such lag is disadvantageous to the player. It's also funny sometimes you cast your Fire 1 with 50% haste and then it slows down in mid cast when the server managed to tell your client 'no more haste!' on time.I wish PvP would come out sooner rather than later as that will definitely open the eyes of a lot of the non believers. I don't get how people think it's acceptable that your screen is often rendering a very inaccurate portrait of what's happening in the world. It's not just limited to Titan, but having a false rendition of the world is just especially glaring on a fight with very tight time limits to get out of near instant kill abilities. In any other game, if you attempt to tell people "but I dodged that!', nobody would believe you because it's a fundamental assumption that cast bar/telegraph area are in sync in a MMORPG. But this game, it's definitely a very valid thing to say, and that's precisely what's wrong with the game.

This is much! I don't understand why there's no other option but to have this obvious disconnect between the games visuals vs it's mechanics. I've never known them in other MMO's several years old. I see no reason why SE can't keep up with outdated standards. It's gotten to the point where I literally run INTO the aoe's at certain points because I know the server won't realize I'm really there. That's just sad.
I could never get away with that in other MMO's at launch. See no good reason why I should settle for less here.

I play SWTOR endgame, and have been pretty much since the game came out. SWTOR has had it's problems, but it's never had this obvious disconnect between when AoEs visually go off and when they actually happen.
I'm known as a pretty decent healer on SWTOR. In fact I have two healer characters, in two raid group that are part of the top guilds on my server. I don't get caught in AoEs unless I loose focus or do it on purpose, and my character dies or looses health immediately when he gets hit on my screen.
Honestly, FF14 is the first MMO I've played with this server lag/visual disconnect/whatever you want to call it issue.
