I'll probably give the game a few patches for more content but honestly, the endgame here isn't that hard difficulty-wise. You can learn the fights but more often than not, the delays make it hard, not the mechanics themselves.

Well that`s BS, IMO.
Yes you can Learn all the mechanics by heart, Yes you can move out out of the red zone 0.2ms after it shows on your screen(in some cases), yada yada.
Does not mean that everyone should do the above as a workaround for the stupid game setup (servers that are on another continent, that would be ~7800 km in a straight line from me to the servers).
It`s quite simple actually. If SE will not fix this shit, many players including me will quit, because raiding is a pain.

I am so upset with this all at the moment. Me and my BF play a wealth of MMOs have never had an issue before.
I have immensely enjoyed the fights up until Titan. However I have hit Titan and mechanics of the fight being so strict coupled with the latency just have me with my head in my hands. I could happily record the same clips as in the OP of me being half the arena away from weight of the land and landslide and yet I get hit. It doesn't matter if I preempt and I KNOW the rotation of moves but this is killing me, I find myself literally praying I haven't been hit.
Then when I do get hit I just cringe waiting for waves of abuse from the group I am with. I am not the best player but I am not THAT bad!! It comes to something when you look at the people selling wins and think thats going to be my only option.
Anyway I post this here waiting to be told I have no skill or its me not my tools but its nice to see I am not the only one.
No word on a fix? Well... I'm done. We'll see how things work out for you, SE. It's a shame too... this game had so much potential shot to bits by your apathy and silence.
As an Aussie, this is a huge issue for me.
Despite downing Titan many times, completing 4 relic quests since 2.0, and completing EG content that rely on strict dodge mechanics, this is definitely a huge problem.
The issue itself I believe stems from the infrequency of position checks. This is pretty evident when simply getting a friend to run in a straight line, and /following them. Both screenshots were taken at 8:10 Eorzea time, so what you are seeing is the location of our characters and what we are seeing on our clients at the same point (or very close to).
Before anyone blames my "internet connection", I am running on a 125Mbps down / 2.5Mbps upstream service. (Yes latency is not the same as download speed, it is about the delay / response time). The only potential blame here is my geographical location - which should really be handled by SE in the form of an on-par netcode.
Please note the 2 bushes that the Lalafell is running past on my screen, then take note of our positions on his screen.
This clearly shows that there is a large delay between what our client shows, and the position that the server believes we are.
Now if we break it down to worst case (since this game is supported all over the world), my latency to the server sits at around 280-300ms.
While I am definitely no networking / internet expert - from my understanding the following is an extremely rough, basic breakdown of what is happening:
If it takes 300ms for an AoE indicator to appear on my client, average human reaction time is about 200ms, then preceding this, the server believes I move 300ms later then I actually do - we are talking a near 800ms latency that has been compounded. That is nearly a full second of latency, simply because many actions are not calculated client-side. This of course may not be very accurate as I don't really know how it currently works, but the difference between being able to avoid an AoE or get hit by it, is pretty damn close to this to begin with.
The next example is moving out of an AoE circle, clearly *before* the cast bar finishes, yet still getting hit. Both images are 2 separate instances, on the same monster.
Yes I got hit by both of these. If you wish to see the videos I used to break these screenshot down to the frame, I will post it later.
While these screenshots may appear that I dodged the circle by the skin of my nose, in end game content you have to keep in mind that these telegraphs and cast times are MUCH faster.
Currently if I am not already moving before plumes pop on Titan, then I will get hit.
If I am directly targetted by ADS with Piercing Laser, then I will get hit *most* of the time.
The biggest issue here is truly the inconsistency. Sometimes I will hesitate, and end up dodging the attack. Other times I run as soon as my brain registers that a telegraph has popped, yet I still get hit. It is honestly down to a game of luck when dodging attacks for me, and that is infinitely frustrating.
While yes the latency has been slightly improved since beta, it is definitely still a very real problem. Why is it that games such as Guild Wars 2 and Tera allow an aussie like myself to display realistic dodge mechanics, yet this game cannot seem to do it.
Here is the video of the first bomb screenshot.

daily bump
Bump. Avoided Titan's aoes because I memorized it, not because I reacted to it. Going against Titian feels like going into a test and trying to memorize sequences in your head, reactions be damned.

I'll add another vote to do something, whether it's about the lag or just changing it so that the client is calculating position instead of the server.
Not only have I ended up spending entire fights dead because by the time I get any visual, either cast-bar or red circle, to move out of, the attack is already going off, I am getting a lot of abuse from other players whenever it happens. I'd like to play healer, but right now I'm kind of afraid to do anything BUT DPS, because at least this way I'm not wiping the group if I die to it.
Constantly.
The swearing and insults is getting pretty old too.
one time in AK, just before the last 2 Big guys prior to last boss, when one of them(the first one) started to cast the AoE cone thing I moved out. I knew it will be laggy because I also ate some fireballs from the Succ that day, so I ran to the railing (balustrade) that was outside the room / corridor. I had sprint on, so I made it. Started to cast a heal(to "refresh" my location) then got hit but the AoE and died![]()
