I will try again, for the last time... There's over 70 pages to check for INFINITE information, if people still can't see the problem, then I'll start to believe maybe the devs are in the same sac.
Quoting myself:
Rephrasing with more evident hints:
1) Going from 200-300 ping to 50-100 -> Noticeable
2) Fixing server lag -> Noticeable
Now let's combine them
Fixing 1 and not 2 -> Noticeable
Fixing 2 and not 1 -> Noticeable
Fixing 1 and 2 -> Noticeable
And I would have liked to make the last two font sizes closer in size, and the first even smaller.
You are claiming that fixing datacentre also comes with other line quality advantages such as removal of lagspikes, etc.
There's ping, there's speed, and then there's line quality; the quality of the line that links us (anyone, be it from overseas or not, and talking about the common links, not specific ISP stuff, if your ISP sucks in general, it will obviously suck with FFXIV too) is pretty decent from what we have collected, and no one in the representative group is suffering from lagspikes (leaving apart guys affected by specific ISP throttling, etc. - I'm sorry for those issues as well, you got my support).
Even if the servers are moved to your city, you will still have game inconsistencies due to the network, you will see people stuttering/sliding when running around, you will see people "eating" AEs but having dodge them, you will see people dying to AEs then moving the corpse in a post-death miracle, your heals will still land when the tank is dead, and you will still hear the +LB bonus when this happens.
For the last time: People complaining about PING, you're talking about something completely different from what people in this thread is complaining! (and I state this assuming there is no other major issues in check, such as weird ISP management, weird client status, etc.) - We're talking about GAME DESIGN (mostly from a network perspective).
