Auna, melee don't have SOME of the issues, but have some that ranged don't have, I made a video 2 weeks ago to enrich the post I made:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sND93HHDlQ8
If you've actually watched the video with the bard closely, you can see that the player wasn't out of the weight during it's cast time. If you pause it at the right time, you can clearly see the cast time is over with the player still 3 or 4 steps inside the weight. The damage does not get applied to the player until the animation is complete, which is why it looks like lag.
If everyone was able to record themselves doing this fight and review the video closely, then they would be able to see clearly where their mistakes are.
People get tunnel visioned to easily and lose sight of what the mechanics are. I've notice myself losing focus and not paying attention and getting caught by aoes. When I do pay attention I never get hit by them.
I have not beaten Titan, but I don't blame SE, I blame the undergeared pugs I get grouped with and my own mistakes.
Edit:
They kind of lied about removing animation locks. Animations locks seem to be still there but it's no longer called animation locks. It's more like a positional lock, where if your character is still doing animations that started in the AoE outside of it when the casting has finished then they will still get hit because they are still being registered as being inside the AoE.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsHuXAl-bOY
At 6:21 landslide cast begins
At 6:22 player leaves aoe with cast bar at 75%
At 6:24 player is hit by landslide and knocked off
I watched this video really closely and that's what I saw. People who have defeated Titan have already come up with a way to bypass this and it is to try to cast another spell when you've gotten out the AoE ability or just dont cast anything at all and just run out of it.

I did titan hard and its one big lag fest but its pretty fking hard with 100+ ms and the 30-50ms built in, the ppl with even worse net wud prob have 200ms and its not acceptablel to make such boss when we get forced to play on shitty canadian fk servers!.
Tried alot of times where ppl just froze and then 2 sec later titan made landslide which was already done and it was poiting at me and i had no chance of dodging that so yeah CYA!... the power of shit servers!
SE GET ME SOME SERVERS IN EU! not 5000km away from EU compared to if they had placed one in their HQ in london or in germany it wud be 400-800km away with 28ms.
And who the fk host 5 servers call them EU and then host the servers on the other side on earth... SE where is the logic in that? even an indie MMO company cud do that better.

I don't know which video you're referring to, but check this out:If you've actually watched the video with the bard closely, you can see that the player wasn't out of the weight during it's cast time. Freeze just after the player leaves the AoE, cast bar is 75% - landslide.

I finally beat Titan hardmode yesterday. I needed to upgrade my ISP package to do it. The default one just wasn't enough mbps down/up to get away with it. Random lag spikes meant I was going to die. Even so, I've utilized the 'cast as soon as you leave the AoE circle' strategy to MAKE SURE I'm out. I also run when I know weight is coming (it's not too difficult to memorize). If your party plans it perfectly, you can all drop a death trap in the center and go safely to the outside after every weight. However... just because I have found a way to work around this doesn't mean I don't think it's broken. I would also like it if getting OUT of the AoE meant you were OUT of the AoE. Especially when it comes to weights -- sometimes when you 'see' it, it is not enough time to get out of even your OWN AoE circle if your connection isn't perfect.
Upgrading ur dl/up wont change anything as u wont get better ping with more dl/up... only fibre or better routing can get u better ping unless u had like 516kb upload and 1mbit dl then u cud prob see an improvement in ping.I finally beat Titan hardmode yesterday. There is another way but thats most unlikely and that is when u upgraded they placed u somewhere else which had better routing... but like i said its very unlikely.![]()

If they fessed up and admitted the game was unplayable and was going to stay that way... why would we bother trying to play? They like money. I know if they don't fix it they're gonna lose a lot of customers... honesty won't factor into it.
But if they want to get getting that money they will have to do something about it. Western audiences don't take shit if they don't think they're getting their money's worth, we whinge and whine, and since this whole re-release was to get in more westerners.. well, yeah.
It wasn't about ping so much as it was about stability. My ping is actually pretty good (I'm 8 hours away from NA servers). The problem is... I'm in a household with multiple users -- two gamers, at least 5 separate computers, a PS3, Wii, a 'smart' tv and even a few smartphones. We only had 15mbps down and 5 up, but that was always enough because I never had any trouble avoiding anything else in other MMOs. We simply had too much going through that poor modem and router. I'd get lag spikes as different devices struggled to keep up. Playing this game at the same time as my boyfriend was tough -- he's a a tank, so the fight wasn't too bad for him, but dodging stuff as a dps/healer was super hard on me.Upgrading ur dl/up wont change anything as u wont get better ping with more dl/up... only fibre or better routing can get u better ping unless u had like 516kb upload and 1mbit dl then u cud prob see an improvement in ping.

I'm also using cable, which fluctuates depending on the time of day because this connection is networked with all of the other cable users in the area. For whatever reason, my internet would get super slow between 8pm and 2-3am. In 1.0, doing Ifrit (extreme) was doable during the day, but near impossible at night. I'm convinced someone in my neighborhood torrented loads of stuff at that time. I even began monitoring usage from each device when I suspected a visiting friend of leeching my bandwidth every night. I was right but he'll never admit it. XD Whatever it was, upgrading helped my issues greatly. I stopped dying to landslide like a noob. (With a cast timer THAT long... trust me, I wasn't being bad when I ran and got hit. If I do something stupid, I'll own up to it. =P) I now use 50 mbps down and 15 mbps up. This upgrade was long overdue in my opinion.
