How you conveniently forget proper animation/position synchs, client trust, netcode and its predictions... higher/lower latency is not the only possible factor.
I don't have any problem with any of that, neither does anyone on my set and I'm sure there's barely anyone that has those problems, if at all.
If it was on SE's end everyone would be affected, not just some arbitrary number of people.
While the client/server code is far from perfect and has its fair share of problems (ie: not being able to hit a moving target as melee and stuff like that), it certainly doesn't make you unable to complete the current content.

It is still SE's fault for *choosing* to have their servers in an area where a large % of the customer base will have issues, presumably to save money by having them in Canada since its less expensive.

This thread is about the Top reason why no one wants to (or can) play a tank & close melee DRG/MNK class in game.
A Mount isn't going to fix this issue Yoshi P & Dev Team.
Scrolling the screen out isnt going to fix this issue Yoshi P & Dev Team.
Saying you will looking into it months ago wont fix this issue Yoshi P & Dev Team
You've had long enough to fix it. or do a work around. or change combat. but clearly they dont care.
(Yes they did lower the responce time from servers BUT that only helps if your near a server. They should of adjusted delay in combat [or added delay] to match the average latency ping time that way you can at least avoid getting hit, But risk getting hit if you move back to quick Which is 100 times safer. ~ altho they might need to buff up emity on tanks slightly more for it as it may require changing the tanking position after dodging... But thats not for me to worry about since i cant do these adjustments & Give them the results to make sure they dont mess it up like alot of other things they have, Also the average ping to any mmo is 200ms, But since u have alot close to the severs 200ms wouldnt be the best choice, so ruffly 150ms would be more suited, but once again needs testing et.c..)
^^ OMG a work around that will actually work & Didnt take a person getting paid to think of this Obvious solution more than 2 mins to come up with.
& thats right here is why i dont respect the Dev team anymore.

I'm sorry, I'm not able to play tank because...? I can play tank perfectly fine and I actually want to play tank. Either you're trolling or you're just making stuff up now. People don't play tank because, and I know this will blow your mind:
MOST PEOPLE JUST WANT TO SIT AND DEAL DAMAGE, NOT PROTECT A PARTY OR HEAL A PARTY. This is why there's a shortage in any MMO.
They. Can't. Fix. Problems. With. Another. Company. You've had long enough to fix it. or do a work around. or change combat. but clearly they dont care.
It's been confirmed for awhile now it's an ISP problem. (Level3.net, Tata and Sky have all been pretty much confirmed to be the problem.)
Also it's apparent you know nothing of game design, especially MMO design - A company can't just up and change major foundation systems in the blink of an eye while also continually trying to expand the game just because a route to their datacenters are having issues. I mean, name ONE MMORPG that changes their battle system every time a player's ISP has issues or even when a backbone is having issues.
I'm very curious to see which developers has the resources to overhaul their game every single time.

See, the problem with this whole situation is, the fact it's only affecting a certain group of people and not exactly everyone is why it's an obvious issue inbetween the players and the game's servers. I even play PSO2 which as you know is not only an action based online game, but only has Japanese servers and there's no problems...the main thing I noticed? I don't take the same route to their servers as I do to XIV's servers, which on the JP Datacenter, is a route that's having issues because even some JP players are having it and many are actually near the servers.

Could somebody provide a source to this 'confirmation' or is is just conjecture ? I'd love to come back to ARR but while this issue is still outstanding it's not an option. I'm not with any of the aforementioned ISP's so I'm skeptical, but I'd loved to be proved wrong and have a good reason to come back!
How could it be an ISP problem when for the vast majority of folks *no* other MMORPG's exhibit this anomalous behavior. I can consistently dodge AoE's in *every* MMO I play with the exception of this one. That is why I am no longer a subscriber. This issue is netcode and framework based. End of story.
@Blimbeard: This issue has not been fixed but has been acknowledged (in a roundabout way) by SE. IIRC some of the newly released instances force positional updates more frequently than the older ones in order to attempt to remedy this issue. When asked why it was not possible to do this for every instance/zone SE stated the servers as they currently are setup would be unable to handle the increased communication between clients and server. Understanbly, going from a forced positional update every 300 to 100 MS essentially triples the amount if incoming packets to the server, but the fact of the matter is the game should not have launched with such an inadequate system in place.
some better quality game servers would be nice
Can someone with the lag/delay issue tell me how you do against the extreme primals (titan in particular) ? I have a slight delay, and I find Titan Hard manageable, however when i see videos of titan extreme it just looks impossible to dodge all his abilities with the delay.
i just had to memorize it backwards and forwardsCan someone with the lag/delay issue tell me how you do against the extreme primals (titan in particular) ?
